Osman is the only creative player in that group, the only player who can take on players. Gibson plays safe passes mostly, the others are mainly valuable for their ability to disrupt opposition midfield play. If Osman were to get injured or suspended, I'm sure Barkley would start.
I highly doubt it mate. Moyes has proven experience over raw talent rules this season.

If everyone is agreeing Barkley is only suitable for a free attacking role then why the hell hasnt he been given an opportunity in the hole behind Jelavic whilst Fellaini has been out.

Less of a risk playing him there. But not even a substitute appearence when Victor comes off.

Why should he substitute Anichebe for an attacking orientated midfielder if we're 2:0 up against Wigan? or against Westham we were 2:1 up? Against Stoke he got the chance to change something in attack and maybe going for a win, what unfortunetaly didn't happen.

IMO Moyes is right for not playing him from start and he hardly ever got the chance to bring him in as a substitute, because of the circumstances.

Yesterday Vic was subbed for Oviedo. At 1-0. Was that not an opportunity for Ross to be subbed for Vic?

Instead Oviedo came on the left and Pienaar went through the middle

I suppose Moyes could have brought on a young, inexperienced central midfielder, when the match was 1-0 and could have gone either way, instead of bringing on an experienced international.

I'm a massive Barkley fan and think he will be a huge huge player for us but.... Whilst he needs games to learn, is this really the time for rushing him in?? We in a challange for 4th and playing plenty of tight/tough games when experience will be helping us out.

We're also under strength currently. Barkley coming on with the likes of mirallas, Fellaini and co around him is different than Naismith, hitz ect around him.

We may not be helping Ross's short term development at the mo but its helpin our team. His time will come.

Id be playing playing Pienaar in the middle more than he does to be fair. But thats another discussion

I could have seen him at right wing in either of those games, especially with Jagielka or Neville behind him as both are experienced and defensively-abled enough to help him out. Definitely when you consider the impact Naismith and Oviedo have had on the right side when played there.

I'm not convinced Moyes is doing anything wrong there, but the chances have definitely been there to play him though.

Not with you at all here. Oviedo also lacks premiership experience and is alot more lightweight than Ross. I dont know what games you've been watching but its obvious Barkley is a better all round player than Oviedo will ever be. His potential is unreal at just 19. Oviedo on the other hand has done nothing to suggest hes better than Barkley. Hes far from set the world a light. So a few international caps in a very poir Costa Rican squad mean diddly.

Putting Ross in the hole would be less off a burden on the team should he make a mistake. Jelavic, Victor and even Fellaini are always giving the ball away up there.

Theres no reason why he shouldnt have played even a cameo role. Hes been snubbed simple as that.

From what I can remember he played well against QPR when we got beaten 1-0 at home, Played ok until he got subbed against Blackburn when he gave away a pen then hes been average at best when making the odd 10-15min apperance, Oh and when he played 45mins against LO in the cup he was crap

So hes now gone crap since Blackburn. He hasnt played enough for you to say that. Short sighted and delusional?

How was he crap against LO he done ok without doing anything special.

What about stoke? Never looked out of place to me. Looked like he'd been involved for years.

So Hitzlsperger and Oviedo have done well? Ive been every home game this year and apart from a nice lobbed pass by Hitzlsperger and a long ranged shot the hit the cross bar.Ive seen nothing but short 1-2s in the middle of the park. I dont think Ive seen him throw one tackle in.

Oviedo has done nothing to suggest hes going to do damage to any team. Id much rather have Naismith who's proved he can get goals and will work hard.

I rest my case
