What a good point!!!
Talk about over-thinking this player development s**t. Barkley is gonna be class, and putting him in OUR midfield for a month, won't be as much a risk as playing f****ng phil neville there for a month.
Instead, we'll sign a journeyman footballer for about £25k a week, who in 5 or 6 weeks, we wo'nt want or need anymore.

Yeah but if you play him at Shef Wed he will make his mstakes and kearn from tgem and not have the same pressure. Its that pressure that can make a young okayer fold. I think Dave Jones will be great for developing him.

People like you talk about barkley or young footballer's as if they've never kicked a ball. all the talk about making mistakes, as i said before, he won't give the ball away, or [Poor language removed] up attacking moves as much as neville or even heitinga, let the lad play ffs.

No idea why he can't make his employment work. Seems he's wasted his last two-three years trying to cement a place in a club, wonder why West Ham and Lazio and Wolfsburg have given him so little action? Specifically when he was in his prime?

Still, i'd take the guy. 30 years is half Neville's age. Probably doesn't have much pace, but he's tall, hardworking, experienced. Over 50 caps for effing Germany! Get him in.

This thing with keeping Barkley is a bit silly, we all know Moyes wont play him with a decent squad available, so instead of him being the back up then he gets loaned out and gets valuable playing time.

If we bring in a freebie then he will be back up and that's it, there's no point saying well Barkley is better than this guy because whoever comes in could play 3 matches all year, that is no good to Barkley he needs games.

Neville has played all his career in the Premier League, been a captain of Everton for a few seasons and therefore can lead a team. His passing is not great his influence on the pitch and the team more than makes up for that. His experience is vital and he can play in numerous positions. I have not greatly followed Hitzlsperger much other than seeing bits of him in the Premier League and i would say his stock is nowhere near as valuable as Phil Neville otherwise he would have been at a top club for much longer. Decent free but i wouldn't want to see him anywhere near the team when Gibson is fit

That means nothing - shall we get Dave Watson back? Also, his 'influence' on the pitch nowhere near makes up for his inability to play a 5 yard pass. We have other leaders like Jags, Distin and Pienaar who does a lot of talking on the pitch. It's not like Neville is the coach of an under 9s team who run around clueless.

Also, does that mean Michael Owen is better than Nikica Jelavic?
