Even with our injuries like isaid we should not lose to burnley and hull
and draw at home to stoke and wolves.
Just look at the hull line up last night it was championship standard
even with heitinga, rodwell, cahill, saha, yakubu and pienaar we should be beating them easily.
I didn't watch the game so I can't comment on what really happened on the pitch.
But one thing I know, and there is no need to be a genius, when we're short on good players opponents fear us less and our own players lose confidence. It happens everywhere.
I know something about Cahill's style and he seems one of those whose performances suffer when he hasn't someone by his side who can allow his runs. He's no organizer. In the same manner I rate Fellaini, although he really disappointed me in both matches against benfica.
When we look at our midfield there is no one to control the game on the ball. Pienaar has just came up from injury. It'll take time for him to regain his potential level.
Billy is still settling. Arteta gone for ages and we didn't bring anyone for cover. Osman, most underrated player from the squad IMHO. These guys can make good use of the ball. Like some of you guys said we have to get the basics right. Passing the ball and keep possession is in my opinion one of those basics that we are not doing right.
When we don't have means to keep the ball it will be easier for the opponents to put us under pressure. They'll make us be on the back foot for longer periods of time.
The Yak and Saha. Good strikers but with no service they are as harmless as a pussycat.
Last season I was able watch our game at Villa Park and I thought that with a proper midfield who could spray some nice passes around we would have slaughtered Villa in the counter. Poor decisions were made on those key pass that could put a player face to face with the goalie.
I think this season the absences make our problems more thick on that department.
Still I think the manager hasn't been able to do much wrong, simply beacause I doubt anyone could do anything different from our career right now.
