On a simple economic level for him to be refused a work permit is crazy. 40% tax approx on a what 60k a week deal? Not to mention his spending power once in the UK. Seems crazy a special economic dispensation can't be arranged.

This is what I don’t understand. I don’t know the rules for people looking to come and work in the UK but he’s got guaranteed employment and a ‘sponsor’ in the club.

If it’s the FA refusing to give him one over some sort of different qualifying criteria then I don’t see why he couldn’t look to take legal action against them as he’s being treated differently from other foreign people looking to come and work in the UK.

That's mental, so the entire premise is made to benefit only the big clubs?

If you look at it as a socialist lol

But its designed to show in transfer fee that the player is 'needed' and valued as a worker compared to a European...

Also that can be seen by the number of caps he has though for lower placed countries the players may not be as good...so not 'needed'...

All about showing why hes better than giving a local person the job.

Also seems ridiculous that a random Brazilian is somehow a better player to allow in over any African due to the fifa rankings

Not a random guy + his fee was in the top 25% of all fees paid thst window

They kept him from playing deliberately destroying his chances of playing in the world cup and getting a work permit just so they could loan him for another season.
Ridiculous

Ridiculous

Did they though ? Not playing him would and clearly has destroyed any relationship between player and manager meaning he’s not going to play for him again , it seems a strange course of action .

The fee wasnt in the top 25% of fees at the time so doesnt qualify.

Its still a decent fee though isnt it, not like we paid £100k.

I can understand the rules are there for a reason, but a £8mill fee, over £25k p/w in wages, most promising player in Belgium award and 6 Champions League appearances should count for something, along with the fact that only injury prevented him being in the WC squad.

The lad isnt making it up this is straight from the player
He made all kinds of crazy statements in the press in Belgium. He's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Truth is he was very underwhelming and he wasnt even a starter for Anderlecht. The manager doesnt rate him and Anderlecht does not want to keep him.

Can we not just send them a highlights real of Bolasie at Everton and then they may understand that he would be "needed"
