Question 1) Are you really Neville Southall?

Question 2) Really?

Cost me an absolute bomb before eventually finding out he had no contact details for Jason Kearton. I'll doubt I'll ever discover how to get hair colour like Big Jase.

He never really went down the pundit route as I recall, not sure why that is.

He wanted to, but he's too outspoken for mainstream media.

I'd love him as a MOTD regular, or one of the regulars on live matches. His views are proper pro-Everton (much like how all those red pundits are for their clubs).

He's far too outspoken for much of the press, although if Joey Barton can get a gig, Nev probably should have got one too.

I met him the Christmas before last, he was in the (now closed I think) Everton In The Community shop in the MetQuarter in town doing autographs and the like. He was promoting a new book I think. Anyhow, I had bought me Dad the third strip for Christmas (the grey one the year after the lovely cream one) and Nev was one of his hero's, so I went in there and bought a cheap foam finger so the staff would put me in the queue and he could sign the shirt. He asked who it was to and I told him it was for my Dad and explained that he followed Everton home, away and abroad in the seventies and eighties and that Nev was one of his heroes, then I asked him what he was doing these days and he told me that he was working with disabled kids/kids with problems (one of the two, I can't remember) and that it satisfied him more than playing football ever did.

I think he's probably quite a sound guy, certainly outspoken like. Every ex-footballer does something to rake in the dough, this sort of thing probably isn't a big reflection of his personality.

I would say it's exactly that, Neville probably just missed out on the huge wages the current crop of mercenary's command nowadays. Id imagine if he was around today he would command at least 80k a week. That's the Southall from 1983-to early 90's not the Southall that stayed playing for 2 years too many.

Yep,should have retired after the Cup Final in 1995 IMHO,would have been the perfect end for a legend to bow out.

I don't believe it's actually active anymore.

He's been on Twitter ages and answers people's questions on there for nothing.

Gary Stevens worked for the Trust I did for a while. Think he left to open his own physio place.
Where are the 80's team now -

Big Nev - self employed
Shaggy Stevens - physio
Psycho Pat?

That is a bit weird to be fair.

He should sell autographs? I'd buy a signed shirt or picture off him

He was the greatest goalkeeper on the planet and earned less in his whole career than some of the piss poor players of today make in a year. He needs to earn money........
