The reason moyes dropped him is jags is better.
Opinions mate. I think Heitinga is a more comfortable footballer. Be a much better outlet in Europe because he is comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Jagielka has always and will always be of the hot potatoe mold. Boss tackler though.

Heitinga is the worst passer of the ball at the club. How he's got a reputation otherwise I don't know. He hoofs it, he plays ambitious long ball when closer options are availbale, he plays suicide balls.

Think this season you're right he's played shocking passes at times. However still maintain he's a better all round "footballer" than Jagielka.

More comfortable on the ball. A classic European centre back.

Maintain - Has a massive ego. In order to get the best out of him the ego needs to be massaged all the time.

When on his game the best all round CB at the club. Always been an understudy to Jags here though and you can't do that to his ego. Cue poor performances and half hearted challenges etc.

He's wanted out since Moyes dropped him for no reason at all at the start of the season.

mate he has been given plenty of chances to stake a claim for his place. yes, he was probably harshly dropped for the start of the season, but he decided to moan like a baby and when given the chance, he played like one instead of getting his head down and giving it his best shot like every single poster on this site would do if they were given his chance.

that performance vs villa was the worst defensive performance i've ever seen from a blue, he sulks and expects everything to be handed to him on a plate in this blue shirt. why the little tit think he's too good to demand never to be played at Right Back i'll never know

From what I saw, early boo boo, and he cleared the **** out the ball like 5 times in a row at one point.

I watched the game and thought he did well in a poor team.

Not really sure why we burn our own the stake constantly, when they are but mere mortals.

Pretty sure Jags played nearly double what Johnny did too.

Just shows that Baines although brilliant going forward is not too clever defensively.

The stats do suggest that.

However, I disagree. Baines spends most of his time higher up the pitch than any of the other players compared against, so is unlikely to be in the position to get in the way of as many shots, or to make interceptions. Plus, he's a midget so he's never going to be great in the air.

Defensively you can't really compare Baines with our CBs as the stats don't really match up. Comparing him to Coleman would give you a more accurate idea but even then Baines is definitely the more attacking of the two.

am i missing something here? seems to have good defensive stats there. he's tailed off a bit lately in that department but he'd been impeccable for the majority of the season

As interesting as stats are to read they really mean nothing in terms of football other than the league table points. Football is much more than just a stat based game.
