I expect Armstrong will be involved in pre season and will have the chance to prove he is worth keeping at Everton for the season...which I think he will do.

I think Armstrong tapered off a fair bit tbh and, Big Tim actually had more influence on games. Tough tackler, looks to carry the ball forward and equally as poor at shooting. Moyes likes a player with an engine and I think Tim shades it for him.
Agreed that if Amrstrong did go on loan, it needs to be a progressive switch- even a euro club like Branthwaite did.

….i just don’t think CM play in silos these days, as an old bloke i do like DMs hunting in pairs not forgetting modern no10 is more of a hybrid who pops up all over the pitch. No6, No8, No10, while requiring discipline is maybe more fluid than ever. Hackney looks like he can pick a pass in the top third.

Watched all his england games and when Anderson was out it was Tyler Morton that took the role, Hackney was a sub that would come on further up the field.
