Have you ever sung "that song" ?

I don't have to pretend as I am a blue. I like to class myself as a fair minded, old school blue. I certainly don't like some of the stuff I've read on here and the way people can get so worked up over a song is a bit embarrassing. Why do you question me? Is it because I'm slightly negative to some people's views. If it is, do you not look back on this thread and feel a little bit sad at the way the rivalry has gone with the RS? Do you condone some of the behaviour......over a song? It's a sad indictment of the way some of our support has gone but nothing should surprise me in the society we live in today
Crying and shaking there?

. To be honest, reading some of the posts on here, I'm not surprised the Derby has gone the way it has. It saddens me, it really does that some people on here can actually resort to physical violence upon hearing a song ffs.
Probably none mate, but we're not talking about singing it, we're talking about people on this thread actively resorting to physical violence upon hearing it. I'm ashamed by some of the comment on here.
Quite a few on here have resorted to violence upon the song being played.
Repeated accusations of 'resorting to physical violence' throughout the thread. Just read every post. Not one post to back up your accusations. NOT ONE.

Fk off back to your snakepit lad.

Can't abide it (the Gerry Marsden version that became their anthem). The Carousel film version is fine as its completely different..haven't yet heard the musical original.

The problem is its not as if it's some run of the mill anthem that barely anyone knows, it's probably the most famous anthem in the sport (can't think of anything that comes close) which makes it more galling. Theres a vid on YouTube of 95k Aussie RS fans in the MCG singing it (didn't dare click on it). There's no doubt it has helped broaden their appeal as its instantly identifiable.

I went to most of the Derbies in the 80s and 90s, must have been around early 2000s where I gave the Derby up as it was just getting too poisonous. I never thought I'd say it, but reading this thread leaves me in doubt as to where some of the fault lies for the Derby being what it is today. Both sets of fans have their share of idiots,we know that, but if that's the way some of you act when you hear 'that' tune, I find it really sad.

Nice of you to explain why then! instead of coming out with statements like that, Tell me why? Quite a few on here have resorted to violence upon the song being played. True? If they find that 'offensive', I dread to think how they act on Derby Day. Some really sad people on here. We certainly have our fair share of idiots. It's a song & it turns most of you into some sort of quivering wreck the minute you hear it.
Vast majority of folk do not resort to violence though.

Why is this thread now on page 10 ? How many ways are there to say no and rip out my throat if I ever even whistle a single note of this dirge which represents the devil and his squalid deluded followers

Drives us to actual physical violence apparently
