Have Everton ever reduced you to tears?

Things were a bit different then. I remember as a 13 year old being consoled by Liverpool fans in the enclosure at Goodison when we lost 0-1 to a goal by Alan Waddle. Better times.
big mick scored a pearler that day , ref ruled out as norm ,can still see it now bullet header in park end , they went right up the other end and scored

I don't think I've ever cried as a result of following Everton

I've raged many a time but can't think of a time when I cried

I usually only tend to cry when I'm really happy. When I'm sad, I tend to go numb and very quiet, but rarely cry.

That's how I am now. I had a near mental breakdown in 1997 over a basketball game. After that, while I still get worked up during games, if my team loses I just get really numb and I won't talk to anyone for a while. Literally, I won't talk to anyone until I've convinced myself it didn't happen. If I interact with people after a bad loss, regrettable things happen.

I am a softie though. If Everton ever won the league I'd be blubbering like a damn 3 year old. And I wouldn't care.

I cried when we were 2 up against United at Goodison 6 years ago and ended up getting beat 4-2, because I really thought we were playing well and Stubbsy and Manny scored boss goals, I was way too old to be crying at the time, lets put it that way.

it's ok mate. Join the club. This is the thread where we pull these things out of the closet and it's ok.

When first getting into football I didn't take defeats too well, especially against the likes of Liverpool, United, Chelsea. So sobbed a few times.
Like LTblue above, think I cried during that game.

Next time we win something - I know i'll blubber like a child.

The thought of being with all me mates, who i've been with for a few years travelling home and away and then seeing us win something. That'll get me.

It'll happen.

I was inconsolable after the Fiorentina game, genuine heartbreak. The only time i've ever shed a tear over Everton

Cried when Duncan Ferguson retired, but that's it with regards to shedding Everton-fuelled-tears. Oh, I suppose tears of anger count too? I was livid for the Clattenburg Derby, probably had a few tears in my eyes to be honest.

The first time I really remember was at Old Trafford 1971 FA Cup Semi Final losing to the ****e after leading at half time was walking back to the car with my arl fella and his mate tears in my eyes.

Im sure there has been others but the next one I remember was against Wimbledon in 93 I think when we went two down and we were staring relegation in the face, my mouth went dry I my eyes were welling up.

I also agree with a previous poster re "We shall not be moved" that has always been our song and there is nothing better when sung properly.

I usually get that feeling where you think you could when you see how many of us turn up some mad place in the middle of nowhere. The numbers and noise we can make never cease to astonish me.
