Moyes is a good man manager though. He can put players in their place.

Secretly, in the back of my head, I was hoping we'd sign either him or Boateng. If this one goes to Newcastle, and Boateng goes for the reported fees, I'll be really disappointed. Seems like we're missing a trick; but then there might be more to it.

I agree. Defo wanted one of Ben arfa or boateng but thinking about it, not sure we need either.

They're both really young though. Boateng for about £5-6 mil apparently? I'm sorry, but he's a good player and will only improve. If Distin's worth it, then he is.

Point is; we have an ageing midfield. Even if right now Ben Arfa or Boateng might not be needed, in a few years they could be instrumental.
 

Apparently loan (with a permanent move next year for additional 10m I think) is agreed - good move by Newcastle. Of course Ben Arfa can find his way to be a pain in the ass and disappoint heavily, but he's way too talented, to not take a risk on him. Personally I would be happy for us if we would do it, so for Newcastle it's a great transfer.

yeah. newcastle defo got better. like 12-15 range now. IMO
 

newcastle seem to be out of race, and he hasn appeared at training last two days... does any1 no if our interest was even concrete??

Don't know about the interest but been dropped for their squad tomorrow and Om have confirmed he defo not going to newcastle so his options seem pretty limited right now. Heard small whispers from a few blues about Joey to OM- could this be a deal clincher if we have genuine interest- ie loan to buy kind of deal for Ben Arfa?????

think joey wud rather stay in england and wud mayb also need us with another cb required
shame never got onouha on loan
 
I think he may well go to Newcastle in the end. some will be disappointed but its another Emre Belözoğlu for me.

talented player, bit of a tit, will go where the wages are, ergo Newcastle.

Glad to see they don't change.
