I read an article years ago that basically said Liverpool fans identify with roadrunner (smug, hero complex, always seems to come out smelling of roses) and Everton fans identify with Wile E Coyote (hard working, habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, downtrodden, mocked by biggest enemy). It's always stuck with me as being accurate.
