Has it all gone a bit wrong?

Was Whelan spending then or not?

C'mon fella that's in the text, Martinez escapes were amazing under such constraints - have you come up with something to beat the FA cup win yet?

"It won't be winning the FA cup will it". It won't be getting relegated either if the manager is capable of miracles and the greatest achievement in premier league history. Merely staying up should be a walk in the park for a man of that calibre.

On gaining promotion to the premiership, they spent £3.5m net and got 10th in the league under Paul Jewell. You're talking about constraints and how amazing it is that Martinez kept them up for a few years. Managerial miracle work no less. And yet, you seem to loathe Moyes, who, on a massive net gain (£30m in 2004), took us to the top 4. Not bringing Moyes up for the sake of it, just don't get the logic there.

I can't be arsed looking up wage budgets. I know Wigan's has always been low, but again, it didn't stop the masterminds Jewell and Bruce keeping them up and didn't stop Moyes dragging us up the league back when we were gash, albeit with a larger wage budget.

And no mate. That FA cup win was unquestionably the greatest achievement by any club, ever, in the 21 year history of the premier league. What about the utterly sh*te RS side containing the likes of Djimi Traore winning the CL? What about United's 1998/99 League, FA Cup and CL treble? Just a couple off the top of my head.

All due respect, but beating a city side that had decided they just weren't going to play under Mancini anymore and had their sights on their moves to Juventus etc was hardly a great acheivement, if they had beaten the city side that beat Chelsea in the semi-finals then that would have been impressive....

And with regards to the relagation, ask yourself, would a different magager (Laudrup or someone similar) have kept Wigan up? I am not sure and noone can be, but I think he would have.

See this is the problem you can't concede the point about Whelan shutting off the money, reducing the wages and selling their best as in any way shape or form an influence comparing the previous regimes.

Similarly Moyes for some diversionary reason gets pulled in .... please tell me in what 3 or 4 year period he endured reducing our wage bill by 24%?

If the RS were as ****e as you say how come they were part of the original sky4 and had won trophies (multiple) in the years preceding and as for Utd don't insult anyone's intelligence with their financial power they should be cleaning up like that every year.

Have another go, I've got all night.

Just a tip - don't try BS or diversionary crap it just racks me off.

The Mancini stuff is of course a statement of fact isn't it? also the idea footballers would be so diverted by thoughts of a transfer during the FA cup final well that MUST be it.

Regarding the "other" manager question... well, as you allude to it's entirely fantasy so what are you on about?

Posting 'It's all gone quiet over there.' 7 minutes after taking 30 to reply to the one above.... are you serious?

If you think that City went out there with any intention of trying to win that game and get Mancini the trophy that could have saved his job, then it is you who are living in fantasy land. And don't try and use the idea that money determines your league position, a good manager will not get a team of average premier league players relagated, wigan's team last year was no worse than Norwich.

I find it quite unreal that people on here want Martinez to fail and assume already he will faill..how about giving him a chance...Moyes had 11 fkin years and we won zip and died of zzzz boredom ..I so hope Marinez proves the happy clappers wrong so much..and Moyes gets fked off at the end of the season...COYB

Quite possibly the most ill thought illogical post I've ever seen, certainly the most desperate I've seen to run down the achievement of Everton's new manager.

I'm sorta extrapolating the reason Everton players looked like they weren't arsed against Wigan was they wanted shut of Moyes - have I got this right lad?

(rubs eyes) Are you actually saying City threw the cup final so that you can post venom at Martinez?
