Has Fellaini really got a £22m buyout clause in his contract ?

Man, you are desperate.

Do you know what, I'm going to acknowledge your references to TALKSPORT (lol), and the really well publicised comments by Mark Lawrenson.

And what's this, there was also a blog written by some random feller, which you have only found through desperately searching the internet to find some isolated, hardly acknowledged report which nobody gave a feck about at the time of its publication?

Well that's it then, I really cannot argue with evidence like that. The prospect of Fellaini having a release clause was clearly known by the vast majority of Evertonians, and only a small minority considered the recent reports to be a revelation!

The recent media reports have made no difference whatsoever, because the majority of Evertonians were already talking about it.

Clearly.

Where did i ever say that was the case ?

Talk about moving the goalposts.

He doesn't know the difference between "known" and "talked about/speculated upon" apparently.

Lunatic. Last attempt though. The comments section on the below:

Now, bearing in mind I can't travel back in time and tape record fellas talking in the pub about it, that's the closest evidence to Evertonians speculating about Fellaini having a release clause you can get.

It's really that simple - as I say, spectacularly wrong.

Indeed. It's called "anecdotal evidence".

Now the onus is on you. I live in Merseyside, I talked about the Fellaini contract with fellow Blues going the match, talked about his contract at length with hundreds of Evertonians online - what have you got to back up this "handful of Evertonians" claim? See, we're linking you to Evertonians who are discussing it with ease, what have you got?

Anything? Nah, of course not.

You're links are my proof. You are indeed providing links to a handful of Evertonians discussing the possibility of Fellaini having a release clause. Compare that to the nature and prevalence of the Fellaini release clause after the recent media releases!

Right, you know how TV ratings work, yeah? They judge how many millions of people watch a show; but they don't do that by actually surveying millions of people, they take a sample and gauge it instead.

The same principle applies here. I can't physically get hold of thousands of Evertonians and get them to telephone you swearing that they did speculate about Fellaini's clause, because it's impossible. But what I can do is get anecdotal evidence to back it up using documented sources where available.

The media releases are separate to the viewpoint of Evertonians, because that news has clearly been leaked recently, whereas speculation had been ongoing long before that - as shown by the links.

Do you understand? Is that simple enough for you FFS?

Your argument seems to be "if a bear sh*ts in the woods and I didn't hear it, then the bear didn't sh*t in the woods." It makes no sense and you're honestly making yourself look very stupid.

When did you first hear about this clause, because your argument appears to be that because you hadn't heard about Fellaini's release clause, no-one else had either?

What would you accept as evidence that a significant amount of Evertonians had heard about this clause before last month? Obviously it's not possible for anyone to record conversations they might have had at Goodison about it.

I didn't say that you said that, but clearly that must have been the case? What, with the prospect of Fellaini having a release clause being such a prevalent talking point amongst Evertonians?

I said that prior to recent media reports, the subject was, in the main, limited to a minority of Evertonians who frequent message boards, and I stand by that, because other than the discussion on TALKSPORT, and the well pubicised comments of Mark Lawrenson, oh and somebody's blog, it hasn't been a prevalent talking point, either in the mainstream media or amongst Evertonians.

Right, OK, substantiate that point. Provide backbone to that, otherwise it's clear bollocks, because right now you're having Evertonians telling you it was a talking point.
