2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

I've watched him quite a lot and I've never seen him do much apart from play short passes the way he's facing. No running with it, no ball manipulation, no difficult passes.
You watching him with a blindfold on?? Even Preston fans on Saturday said he didn’t play great, but made some fantastic runs forward, but never once got the pass. Time and time again he plays passes forward, a lot of time one touch passes into the forwards, the amount times in one game I watched he played it forward into small on
The wing and went for the return only for small to play a cross to
Nobody. 90% of the Preston players are not on his level. He’s also been praised for how he’s finished games with his, energy, pressing tackling that’s helped them
Win games. But he’s got a lot more to his game, someone posted some stats a month ago that had him near the top of midfielders in the championship.

Yes of course he will pass it safe a lot as all midfielders do, even Declan rice will.

Tim’s biggest fans on here, like you, constantly go
On about his pressing, his tacking and how hard he works and his non stop
Running. Not many mention, his passing, his assists, his goals, how much he creates etc

He's no where near ready to play in the premier league. He's not even a stand out player for Preston.
Even their local journalists have said he’s their best player. Listened to the times Podcast on the championship and then mentioned Preston and their loan players, and Armstrong was mentioned as the pick of the bunch. The kid is 18 compared to Devine 21, Dobbin 22 and Jebbisson 22. I guarantee when Harrison is 21/22 he ain’t on loan in the championship

…..you must be getting him mixed up with Jack Rodwell. If you think Armstrong only plays short, safe passes, maybe somebody could post a clip for his Beto goal assist last season.

Actually think Armstrong looks to probe with his passes, brilliant if you’re a central striker because he’ll knock it into you. I honestly don’t recognise your description of him at all.

He just throws out words and hope they fit.

He is just a fairly good young player on loan, I don't get the big deal

It's been made in to a big deal by certain posters now, beyond that it was just people wanting to watch how the lad got on.

Like everything though, it can't be left with that.
People now have to jump on board throwing out all random trash without watching the lad, just so they can say they were right about a player.

It's gone from casual to cringe..

Interesting to see Boyland mention we could recall him and then loan him back at the end of January. Don't think we had confirmation that was a possibility until now.

Feels like the best option all round? We have 6 games in Jan with a depleted squad, he almost certainly gets a decent amount of premier league minutes, then he can go back for the rest of the season instead of just getting benched.

didn’t I mention that about 2 weeks ago and then got shot down in flames from
Certain posters, that thought they knew better

No you haven’t, you’ve even admitted that you hadn’t watched him much . Then you watched him and changed your tune admitted he’d played well.

Every game I've watched him play since then he's been underwhelming. Nothing to suggest he's going to contribute to the first team anytime soon.
Haha, “ every game I’ve watched” , I must have missed your detailed match comments . You do this all the time when challenged eg Tim thread . “ “ I’ve seen him do this many times “ For some reason people don’t believe you.

For the record, is better seeing the season out at Preston than sitting on the bench here. Needs the game time and the building experience, then a full pre season, then weighing up options.
He does not improve...
Mykolenko in any capacity
O'Brien into an overlapping pacy right back
Barry or Beto into composed confident strikers
Branthwaite's hamstrings

Leave him be, a watched pot never boils.
