Well I’d give Harrison an assist for their second goal , even if it was a 60:yard clearance . And it was his hard work to win the ball that helped create the first goal.

I’ve watched the first ten minutes on delay. Different class so far to be fair. Driving run. Excellent passing. Only downside is every time he has done something good Devine and Dobbin get the credit. Co commentator is an absolute weapon.

I’m wondering if there’s now a few Blues in there boosting his BBC score. I regularly check the Lancashire Post , biased too of course , but usually in proportion to others. I think this is a fair rating for 54 mins. Top score was 7.5 , Small got 7 :

….sensible. He does look to play into the central strikers feet rather than safer options which is a little unusual these days.

He’s bubbling along nicely. When we’re playing I look at everyone, when Preston play I focus on him , while taking in the other players, so I look at where he moves when he hasn’t got the ball, how he creates space, where he’s looking to pass to etc . There’s still sometimes a youthful enthusiasm that gets him running into a position where he won’t get the ball , whereas at Derby playing further back he moved into space behind to give the guy with the ball an option if he’s in trouble. Different facets of his game coming out and things to work on , with our u18/21 he took a few corners and free kicks , now Devine/Whiteman take the free kicks at Preston, I’d like to see if he can also take free kicks and longer passes . Bubbling along nicely .

Whiteman really stands his ground on set pieces, whereas he would probably be the better player in the box attacking the set piece.
