2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

It will be far better for him and for us that he did. There was little he could contribute this season, and he will get invaluable everyday experience to hone his craft. Much like Branthwaite.
I understand where you’re coming from but I don’t agree, I would rather 20 minutes here and there of top quality football in and around it in a premier league squad with other top players and I also think we will need him from time to time.

I see Liverpool haven’t sent Ngumoha out despite forward additions. They think he can have an impact where he is.

Branthwaite went to play for a really good club where he would play in a dominant team getting lots of the ball and we’ve seen the benefit of that environment.

We rarely see much benefit in sending players into battle hardening situations, we are just giving them bad habits.

I don’t think playing for Preston will enhance his reputation much more on top of the Derby experience (who finished one place above Preston) hardly much progression on last season.

Interesting you mention Ngumoha not going on loan, Armstrong is the only one in the whole u19 squad on loan , all the rest are at their parent club. Depending on your point of view you could take this to mean :
1.Harrison is the most mature of this bunch and can take being away from his parent club getting game time.
or
2. Unlike other clubs we’re pretty crap at developing our young players and are happy to let other teams do it.

I suspect both of those are true

By all accounts his time at Derby did benefit him. It certainly didn't hinder him

Let's give it a month or two before we say it was a good/bad decision to loan him eh?
Why from day one it was a very bad idea being around Jack Grealish in training would have helped him .... Preston what a coincidence - Wrexham , Blackburn , & Derby in for him ....
The other lot never let their young winger go out on loan did they they have more sense .....
