2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

Good to see a local lad back in the mix.

I've always thought of him as being a bit too much St George Park and beige, but his time in the blood and snot of the Championship may have served him well in that respect.

Hopefully he seizes his opportunities.

….has to be made of the right stuff to be a regular fixture at that level, especially for teams at both ends of the table. He’s competitive without being aggressive, just plays like a much more experienced pro.

Was surprised we loaned him out.

After they did - Im surprised we're recalling him - we're only really missing Dewsbury-Hall, on top of long expected Gana Gueye.

Maybe they think hes better than they thought.

I think we recalled Simms years back an he barely got a sniff. Hope we dont do the same here.

Did you see our bench at Forest?

Which explains the first sentence of what you've just quoted.

We we're always losing Gana and we have a small squad.

Start of the season:

Tim
Gana
Garner
Rohl
KDH
Armstrong

It was perfectly fine to loan him out then thinking Gana was the only absentee.

Rohl being injured most of the season so far and KDH doing his hamstring has changed that.

It's just hindsight now to wonder why he was loaned out in August.

I cant see him being as gifted as Barkely...a player criminally under rated by Evertonians.

If he comes in and is as good as, say, Tony Grant (who I also rated, btw) then that'll be more than welcome.

There's apparently two lads in the academy who are coming through: Bogan and McEveley to keep an eye on - different positions like.

We need the production line up and running again as that'll really fire up this club.

As I said, from your list we've only lost KDH to injury and we always expected to lose Gana.

So again, I was surprised we loaned him out.

As we did loan him out, Im surprised we've recalled him because, not a lot has changed.

If anything, Tim Iroegbunam has proven to be better than expected.

Dewsbury-Hall could even be back soon.

Well no, we are currently at:

Tim
Gana
Garner
Rohl
KDH

Then you need about 20 question marks next to Rohl who's pre-Everton injury record was crap, and he's also had 2 (?) injuries in 6 months with us. So we have 2.5 centre mids and one of those is always dangerously close to being needed at RB.

I thought before we loaned him out that if he got his chance he’d nail down a first team slot for us this season - seems to have that self assuredness about him to go with his talent. Hopefully he can make the most of this opportunity

Are you on a wind up? You've crossed the 2 players ive said we're missing

Again, we always expected to lose Gana now and so its only one injury. Did we loan him out expecting to get 0 injuries?

And on Rohl, Moyes always said he'd need some time. A tad conflicting later talking him up so much mind.

I am merely spelling it out for children why right now it makes sense to bring him back, and why back in August it also made sense to send him out on loan. Whilst Rohl needed time, he still would have been an available body on the bench if fit.

I'm not sure I can dumb it down any more than that.

….different type of player than Barkley or Grant, not as technical as either of them. Good range of passing, terrific engine,

I know McEveley’s dad from his junior school days, Scottish international. Like his dad, he’s from the Cardinal Heenan production line and very tall. More of a converted CB.
