I have gone for the schnides. Good reading of the game, some nice touches and seemed everywhere.

After the goal, we looked well comfortable, moment of madness from Williams notwithstanding. The last fifteen in particular were pleasing to watch, total control, no fussing around, just move the ball and hadjuk side to side and kill the tie off. Side is still crying out for a center forward to hold the ball and bring others into play around him, but Keane and Pickford have made the backline much more steady. Would like another center half signed and perhaps a chance for Holgate to partner with Keane, but hard to complain about two goals conceded in six matches.

As I said in the match thread:

A very sketchy performance overall, but it shows what happens when you have real quality across the pitch. 2 moments of quality (one of them world class) have won us this tie.

If we can work towards some real consistency this season (and shake off those ever present Everton nerves) we can really crack on this season.

Voted Williams. Aside from that penalty tackle, he was superb.

Williams had a good game tonight apart from the pen but he has made a rod for his own back as all many will remember is the pen tackle and conveniently forget the rest.

Awful tackle for the pen, and he wears breeze-block boots when he passes, but he'll be hugely important as 'a stopper' for us this season. It's a position that can hopefully wait a window.
