I honestly think moshiri thought he was being all Real Madrid with this deal. Y'know, bullying a smaller club by using financial muscle to prize their star player from them for an exorbitant fee. Which is fine if a) the player is top class and b) you're not, for all intents and purposes, basically the lidl real Madrid.

I don't blame him for the fee and I think he works for the team. But Lee carsley used to do that as did Kilbane. For the money you expect more. Lots more.
