Various papers linking us to a third million-pound+ bid for 18-yr-old fullback Chris Gunter from Cardiff (which has been rejected). Is he left-sided or right-sided?

And the Swindon manager thinks we will soon sign 17-yr-old central defender Ben Tozer, who had a three-day trial with us this week, was recalled when we wanted to play him in a reserve match, was impressed by Skywalker's pad, and will be scouted by us again this afternoon.

It's good to see we are really trying to build on the youth side, it would certainly make a good foundation for the team, especially when we have limited cash to build our team each season, Youth is the key to our future!

I mentioned Gunter in the Hennesey thread. The lad looks the part already, and if we can get for arund the million mark, we could be saving millions in the future. The Welsh have some fine young players at the moment.

And another right-back/right-midfield 17-yr-old player we are linked with today is Dan Gosling, Plymouth Argyle. Apparently we've been after him before as well, although I haven't got a clue about him apart from the fact he plays for England Youth and has played three games this season in the first team.

it's great that we are going in for these players and the new training centre must be a pull. i'd love to have a kick about there!

although i think i saw that the teenage striker we bought from oldham (spencer?) might be moving on. it really is a bit hit and miss when players are that young.

Very, very true. Naysmith was looking great when he joined us. Still we're looking good on the youth front at the moment.

TOWN'S teenage defender Ben Tozer is set to sign for Barclays Premier League Newcastle United for £1.1million.

Club director Bob Holt this morning confirmed an offer for the youngster had been made and the Swindon Advertiser understands it will be accepted tomorrow.
