Gueye.

I've always thought there was something there to work with. He's a decent size, has decent pace when he gets moving and he's not bad technically either. There's little bits of play by the touchline where he keeps the ball in tight spaces and shows composure and neat close control, but alot of it's with his back to a fullback, or on the turn, rather than facing someone off and beating them one on one. He'll have more success cutting inside from the right or playing as a second striker.

Plus points

Can pick a pass
Good technique
Links up well with the Jelly man!

Minus points

Not pacey enough for a wide player
Doesn't dribble
Looked quite knackered by 65 minutes

I was very impressed tonight, but we still need to see more of him.

I assumed he was fast, maybe thats cos hes.. erm.. French

FAST AND FRENCH SO HE CAN RUN AWAY FROM CONRONTATION LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Ohhhh classic WW2 banter from Nik there.

If you meant confrontation...then would have been funny. I'm a grammar Nazi and everyone knows Nazis beat the french.

The way Gueye played last night was the way I have seen him play in pre season and Carling Cup games. Last night however was the first time I have seen him play like that in a big game and I really hope there is more to come from the lad.

You lot forget that two years ago I came on here and said that we would get guaye and that he would play a huge role in a quarter final replay at sunderland.
