Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

With the RS giving the title up and Utd dropping points I was wondering from a city fan point of view how Pep will see the game on Wednesday.
Will he rest and rotate with CL next week or willl he got for the kill to get the league won ASAP?
Question here is define rest. It probably means bringing Laporte, zinchenko, Jesus, B Silva and mahrez into the 11

What a squad ...

But yer no Fulham or Newcastle hopefully! lol
That's what Guardiola has done - put together a proper squad that can cover
for injuries and rotate when required. Everyone was having a go at him for
buying fullbacks & centre backs not long ago...
It's also exactly what Klopp has not done.
Klopp even has to bin off the domestic cups so his first eleven can cope. For me,
that is why Klopp can't be considered a great manager. A good manager- yes.
But not a great one.
I still think you will give us a run for our money on Wednesday - you always do.

I think the city game will be a draw.

Giving us all hope that we beat Liverpool to go 1 pt ahead of them...until we ultimately dont lol

City are the stand out team in the league this season, no doubt. But we seem to do well with low expectation (it's why the derby terrifies me, the worse they are the worse it will be for us). A few of the important players were rested on Saturday, so will be a tough game. In honesty Pep now has the joy of snookers seeing the other implode around him. I could see us getting a 1-1 and maybe Pep being happy to just keep ticking the lead over.

I'll take a 1-1 draw on Wednesday for sure and I think you will win the derby.
I reckon they must be terrified about playing you guys right now. It has
come at exactly at the wrong time for them. If you beat them then their domestic
season is well & truly over and a top 4 finish is far from being a certainty.

I'd snatch your hand off for 4 mate. In fact I'd snatch your hand off for 2 points at present.

Our record at Liverpool is awful. Logically we should do well in the game. Before the latest crisis, the problem for them was defeating poor teams. We are essentially like an "elite" poor team. We are really good at defending our box, score off set plays, and have the odd moments magic on the break.

But our record at Liverpool is horrendous, so I don't go into it with any confidence. We've had this a few times before and lost. I remember us losing a cup game against them, and Wigan went there and won the next week. We went on a winning run of beating teams 4-0. Something about that place.

I remember under Moyes we won something like 5 straight games, went there and lost, won the following few games and we played them again and lost and then went on a winning run again

What are we supposed to be finding out about Guardiola again?

I'm not even upset by our loss as at least we tried our best and maintained competitiveness for most of the game. City under Guardiola are not only a group of very good individual players, but that group playing as a team no matter who comes in. They're as good a team as I've seen in the premier league era, and that's after being extensively rejigged after the asterisk season. Very impressive to see.

They really are a fantastic side but I really don't care much for their style of football, they are so dominant that it just makes the match boring as a spectacle.
Everyone was raving about Peps Barcelona but it was the same with them, I just used to turn the match off in the end as their is no competitive edge.

Yeah always makes me laugh the title of this thread.
The only thing we've found out is he's more impressive than originally thought.

What I have recently been impressed by his is re-build of the team almost without any fanfare to where it is now - a really fantastic team operating in the same 'style' as the one from last couple of seasons but revamped. And they didn't cut corners either, which is maybe the only reason they fell away from the rs last season so much. No doubt City are back with money, but they do seem to be spending it prudently and within their financial capability, so fair play to them.

Ironically, getting in Messi who has been the best player of the last decade or so would be arguably their biggest gamble as it would be done as much for prestige value to the brand and popularising the club than footballing reasons. We should have such problems!
