Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

I'm kind of unsure how to feel about this

I mean, FFP laws have always struck me as a way to enforce the existing order, so in that regard I'm glad City have given UEFA a bloody nose

On the other hand I think the fact they've got away with it is a shame as it's probably mostly down to them having the money to buy the lawyers to make sure they won

I'm conflicted
We can hire the same lawyers though eh - fullspeed ahead Uzzi

Amongst all the piss boiling and back peddling on social media. People seem to be missing one simple fact from the verdict. They shouldn't because it was part of the headline " MANCHESTER CITY FC DID NOT DISGUISE EQUITY FUNDING AS SPONSORSHIP CONTRIBUTIONS"

That isn't strictly true though. There wasn't conclusive proof that City had disguised equity funding as sponsorship contributions. One of the main reasons was because evidence had become time-barred. CAS stated there was evidence.

This is the second time City have been punished for offences relating to FFP.

a.) MCFC has contravened Article 56 of the Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations. b.) MCFC shall pay a fine of EUR 10,000,000 to the UEFA, within 30 days as from the date of issuance of the arbitral award.

I think UEFA now have two options to either abandon FFP altogether or to tighten up the regulations and extend the time-frame for investigations. I would imagine the first option could well end up with a breakaway European Super League being formed.

City are a small tinpot club and have received the biggest financial doping in the history of English football and have flouted all the laws and bought stakes in about 8 other clubs and have unlimited oil funds , uefa are silly useless muppets and are now dead n the water , they have no authority now
Jealous [Poor language removed], I can imagine you to be furious if someone you knew won the lottery

I'm glad they have got away with it, need them to attract players and keep good ones, a ban would effect the squad and we dont want it easier for the PS.
Plus, it gives Usmanov the all clear for us.

Mate, come on, you had 20 years or so of unrivaled success, you've had it better than any other club's fans over the last 30 years. Other teams will win things over the years, obviously you don't want your neighbours to be successful, but I'm not sure how you can be envious of another club, every club, including the RS look enviously up at what you guys have achieved, no need to be bitter about others.

You've spent so much money recently that you could have rivaled them all the way, they've just recruited much better. I haven't seen city spent the type of fees you guys have spent on maguire, pogba and lukaku for instance, you guys could have attracted two de bruynes, two silvas, two agueros for those type of fees no problem.

FFP has lost all credibility, make no mistake UEFA lost out on a technicality to PSG and had everything to lose here. This was high stakes and UEFA, however they try and term it as a technicality yet again (they do whenever it goes against them), have lost any clout in using profitability as a way of controlling football expenditure.

FFP always was a massively flawed system (With Mr. Corruption himself Michel Platini as a primary instigator there's no surprise there, it goes with the territory) brought in to protect the rich elite under the guise of protecting the poor from owners who would mount up debts and leave. In the end it achieved neither except perhaps for inflating some bank balances with backhanders.

It will stumble on in some form because of other connected rules but as a means of controlling expenditure at the top level it's effectively finished and has lost all semblance of authority.

The head of la Liga is so upset he's attacking CAS as not fit for purpose yet was happy with UEFA judging its own actions and report. The cartel is trying to bite back but the stable door is wide open and the horse has bolted.

The fact It's in tatters is a fitting testimony to the administrative skills and protectionist ideas so propogated by Mr. Backhander before he was eventually found out and banned.

Yeah i agree with a lot of what you have said there , but lets not get away with the fact now that football is solely now about money , just think how many clubs are now owned by foreigners and multi billion corporations , why do these people invest surely this is mainly to with politics , money and power

This is the same as a millionaire telling a lotto winning multi-millionaire, their wealth doesnt count because the won it

I appreciate everyone isn't gonna like us, but scum club seems a bit extreme.

Still, again, as when I first posted on the forum, all the best for the Toffees, I know some might see us as part of the 'club' at the top of the table, but most of us were here when we were getting tonked in Division 2. I grew up watching Rosler and Kinkladze and Alan Ball and Frank Clark sinking us, we're definitely not Arsenal, Spuds, Chelsea, United or Liverpool, they all hate us, haha.

I think UEFA and FFP had it in for us from the start and the rules were put in place as arbitrary roadblocks to stop us trying to progress as a club, because lets face it, the G14 get the most views and that's what's important to them.

Once again, hope Carlo can get you guys up the table where you belong.

Couldn't agree more, it was hugely flawed and they had their sights set on City as a last means of rescuing some form of credibility.

Thank goodness they lost.

Exactly. And people seem to think if we just flaunted all the rules we’d magically be in it.

It was a members only exclusive club who upset by Chelsea and Abramovich earlier this century, tried their damndest to formulate a set of protectionist laws to exclude any other nouveau riche clubs from joining their favoured elite.

They had embarrassingly lost out in a high profile case against PSG on what they termed as a technicality and had everything on the line here, this was high stakes, lose and FFP was effectively finished as a way of using profitability to control football expenditure .

They lost and it's effectively finished.
