Both wrong - if that is what the ref thought (that he has punched him) then its a straight red.

He's given that because Danilo won a challenge for the ball, which would be like giving a penalty for someone winning a header.

Have no idea how you could watch that in slow motion and come to any other conclusion other than that it was a penalty.

Sorry to disagree but that is an absolutely brilliant spot from the referee. Ball headed onto Lloris’ hand. He literally forearm smashed the player. Penalty 100%.

He hasn't though - Lloris (as with any goalkeeper) is perfectly entitled to come to punch the ball away. There is no suggestion that wasn't what he was doing (hence the no red card), and it isn't like he could have done anything to not do it once Danilo won the ball a fraction ahead of him.

No, it's the same as a striker nicking the ball around a keeper sliding in and the keeper then connecting.

Danilo wins the header, the keeper misses the punch and connects with the player.

It's not a deliberate punch, but it's a punch nevertheless. You can make the argument that it's so reckless that it's a pen even if the keeper got the ball first, which he didn't, so it's a moot point.

Are keepers allowed to punch the ball? Yes. Was that what Lloris was trying to do? Yes. Could he have done anything after Danilo won the ball to stop doing it? No.

A keepers allowed to slide tackle too but if he does and smashes the striker instead of the ball it's a penalty.

Don't know what your rationale is here.
