Oh I was there mate. I live down here as well which made it so much worse !
I can remember that day so well. I’m in the States so it was an early morning kickoff. Quick rush to the hospital and then finding out my son was born with a blood infection and needed to stay in the NICU for two weeks (he’s fine now). Think I aged about five years that day. Everton didn’t help that’s for sure

I like the football Loew plays

Brands would have to get him the right players for it though

I think he’d been fine with the day to day coaching, Brands would just have to help out with the transition when it came to getting used to the other facets of club management

The atmosphere inside the Puskas arena, when Hungary took the lead, was electric. I would much rather the final be hosted there than in London.

I thought the same. Plus, England are unlikely to be playing, so no residents of the involved nations will even be able to get into the UK to attend.

McCoist comes out with some nonsense most games though.

Lost count of the times I've just turned the sound down/off to stop the noise a lot of commentators/pundits make to stop them annoying me. Why wont they learn that they don't HAVE to talk all of the f'ing time etc

I miss Barry Davies (no one else comes close alas)

McCoist sounds genuinely happy to be there at least.

Honestly never got it with Low and his decisions over the last few years have been baffling.

Like Deschamps, I really don't think he's all that. Struck gold with a brilliant generation of players.

Also, playing Kimmich as a wing-back makes me sad.

I don't think they really have been that bad myself. The World Cup was just a case of bad luck for me and they were bound to have that eventually after going a decade without having a bad tournament. They play really good stuff and they are a threat to win this tournament. They might be a tad too open but the other sides looking to control games all have been too aside from Italy.

The Kimmich thing is just a case of needing to make best use of what you have. Sure Kimmich is an absolutely world class midfielder and should be used there if possible but it kind of isn't possible because the drop off at RB is massive (I honestly can't figure out who it would even be, Ginter?) while Goretzka, Gundogan and Kroos are all still top class CMs themselves. And he was brilliant out there against Portugal so they're getting plenty from him still.

Low set the tone with his decision not to take Sane who was then at his peak (in terms of his peak form in the last few years) – took a team full of similar players without any direct pace.

There have been some proper crap displays from them in the last few years. I just think he's past his sell-by date.

Probably Klostermann would be the right-back but he's been playing CB more for Leipzig I think, and don't know if he's had a great season.

Kimmich at right-back is different. I imagine if Muller is injured they'll go back to 4-3-3 so Goretzka goes into midfield.
