I understand they analysed mobile phones to gauge how much Gilmour was in the company of each individual. Not sure how that works on a football pitch, but the two England players apparently chatted too long with Gilmour at the end of their game.

….seems odd that Chilwell & Mount have to isolate until next week when most of the team would have had physical contact with Gilmore during that game. The Scotland players & manager have also been in close proximity to Gilmore, yet their game goes ahead.

It's because contact is allowed in a football context. Chilwell and Mount 'embraced' Gilmore after the match, which is classed as not in the football context.
