Full confession, I don't really understand what they mean. I guess the Penaldo one means something about him scoring a lot of/only penalties. No idea on the Messi - Pessi one.

Yeah when they were both in La Liga they would set ridiculous standards of our scoring each other and there was a season where Ronaldo scored quite a few pens and was in the league so ‘Messi fans’ (never understood being a fan of a man not a team) would refer to Ronaldo as Penaldo. Shortly after, Messi started taking all of Barca’s pens too and then ‘Ronaldo fans’ called him Pessi.

I quite often get stuff suggested to me on Facebook with a great goal one of them has scored or something and the comments are pathetic name calling from grown men desperate to say their favourite is the GOAT.

There are so many idiots that post that stuff under and football related tweet. Usually by the 3 reply you’ve got someone saying Penaldo got absolutely no reason

I don’t understand why people get so passionate about who’s the greatest of all time.
If somebody tells me they like Messi, C. Ronaldo, Brazilian Ronaldo, Maradonna, Ronaldinho, Cruyff, Pele, Eusebio, Zidane, etc. that is absolutely fine by me.

I just don’t see Ronaldo as the best ever at all personally…goalscorer maybe, he’s definitely in that debate… but to me the best player ever has to have the skillset of a Messi or Maradona (or Cruyff)…as well as the ability to score, they can slalom through players to win a game and pick out a jewelled pass at will.
