Thank Christ they got the gritters out around Dublin last night. I was watching the news yesterday telling the country that Dublin is at a standstill, people on facebook were talking of it taking SEVEN HOURS for their commute home. Dublin Bus had ordered all of their drivers to pull in at the side of the road and let all passengers off right there in the middle of nowhere, because of the condition of the roads.

I travelled up there today for a job invigilating college exams, and I was positive either I would not be able to get to the college from the city centre, or that I would but they'd cancel the exams anyway because nobody else could. I've just booked a trip to Latvia and Estonia, and I needed this to pay for it!

Thankfully, the gritters had been out and the bus even arrived on schedule.

I'd fading already, all be gone by Sunday I should imagine, lot of fuss over nothing when its' all over, soon be July you know.

Sunbathing along Southend Pier in our deckchairs as the sun beats down and watching the yachts go by.

Here in Blackpool the council ran out of grit and rock salt.My street is like an ice rink and someone must have bumped my front wheel because it is out of alignement making the car veer slightly to the left. It will probably be ok to drive on the main roads , but on the icy roads it will be a nightmare. Why didn't the council get some sand off the beach for the roads ?

that'd be far too easy

our street never thawed from the 1st lot, i went to stockport today and the east lancs rd hasn't even been done or ploughed, the m60 was almost deserted though and i got there quicker than normal.
