How did Young rate compared to Steven? I'm too young to have seen him, but know he was something of a cult figure - didn't the beeb even make a documentary about him?

True, number 5 was a tricky one really! Watson, Weir or Mountfield couldnt remember further back!! Lescott was a class act, still miss him and Jags at the back.

my brother loved the vision ,i only saw him twice ,trevor steven would in my eyes get in every everton side ive seen pure class ,not 1 weakness in his game

Classy is definitely the word to describe Steven. I personally would be hard pressed to choose between him and kanchelskis for that right mid spot. Overall, Steven was the better player but Kanchelskis was so exciting to watch. Totally different kinds of player though. Irrelevant for this thread any way since Andrei didn't wear the number 7 shirt.
