First Blood part I and II: Sly saying "don't push it, or I'll give you a war you won't believe" - superb line

Wild Geese - Richard Burton, Roger Moore, Richard Harris in the same movie

The Cannonball Run - a fun movie if there ever was one

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man: Rourke is just so cool

Bullet: Rourke vs. Tupac, a modern classic.

Big Wednesday. Growing up, the passage of time and above all friendship. Also the best surf movie ever made. I love the film, but seem to be in a minority. Give it a look sometime.

Ashamed I forgot this on my list. Well done.

The mummy and its sequil part 3 is a barrell of C**k

Blazing saddles one of the best movies ever.

Shawshank redemption (i know chico likes this one) pure class

Die hard 4 is a bit lame. Its decent if you like the series, but its not the strongest. Watching him ride on the wing of an F15 in the City was a bit strange. But its watchable crap, yippee kai hey mother ****er.

Die Hard 4 was just a crazy techno action film which just so happened to have John Mclane in.

This film didn't do well when it first came out but has been going up the charts in the "greatest films ever" every year since.

Pure quality.

thank you to those who replied, I was quietly surprised.

Incidentally, I watched Ferris Bueller again last night, from start to finish, I felt a bit guilty at times, but there is something about it that attracts me like a moth to a flame, Mia Sara may have something to do with it.

I haven't seen Die Hard 4, there were some bad reviews, I thought the best was the second (1990) , those last twenty minutes were awesome.

Shawshank Redemption, is rated the second best movie of all time on Imdb, but there are major flaws in it, one being how the hell does Robbins put the Raquel Welch poster back over the hole in his cell once he has climbed through it, with barely enough room to crawl along it, that sucks, hasn't anybody noticed it, and it's a bit convenient there is a great 'back to the future' type storm the night he breaks out, those thuds on the water pipe as the thunder went was more amusing than anything else.

What else?

someone mentioned the Goonies, I didn't see it until years after it's release, that guy from License to Kill is in it, the kids from back then went on to appear in major roles after that, at least some of them, I think the surrounding Oregon setting is superb, fits perfectly with the story, and the beach ending was good.

Did I see Lost Boys somewhere, some faces from Goonies crept in, it's quite upsetting if you're young enough, a friend I knew saw it on VHS when it was released, and was so disturbed by it that he did something weird, I forget now, but he was quite freaked out by it, I wouldn't go that far, it does have some nasty moments for young teenagers, but it's more of a comedy than anything else.

I almost hesitate to admit this but

The Railway Children, the scene where the father returns on the railway platform always brings a tear to my eye, there, said it, now sits and awaits the ribbing. b) :( b)

the soundtrack in the lost boys is amazing.

It's A Wonderful Life - gets me everytime.

Brief Encounter - still in love with Celia Johnson to this day....

I love all the Pink Panther films with Sellars - achingly funny.

Of modern films, I've enjoyed The Bourne Identity. The rest of the series is essentially the same film. Alien.

Anyone who isn't mesmerised by the genius of Shawshank doesn't deserve eyes.

Lost Boys was ace, super soundtrack too. I'd smack Starr like a ginger stepchild.

Watched Inglorious Basterds the other night, good flick man.

My list...

So bad it's good/lighthearted stuff

1. Bewitched - Yeah, I am a Nicole Kidman fan. This doesn't have much of a plot, so I can look at her.
2. Dodgeball - "...If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball..."
My 11-year-old son asked me to watch it with him and it was a treat. Pure bonding and a lot of laughs along the way.
3. GalaxyQuest - Spoof on Star Trek...I am not a trekkie at all...

Good stuff you might have missed

1. The Year of Living Dangerously...Excellent movie. Someone mentioned Gallipolli, which is early Mel Gibson, and quite good. I think this is even earlier Mel Gibson and even better.
2. Breaking Away...1979...Bicycling movie. My favorite movie of all time. It is a coming of age movie about guys who were a year out of high school....The audience clapped at the end. Not a kid's movie either.
3. Breaker Morant...Excellent.
4) Little Big Man - Dustin Hoffman in the "anti-western western"...Love it.

Danke Scheon was just a song my late mom used to like until I've saw this scene. Now, I sort of like it based on that scene in this movie. I've never seen the whole movie, just bits and pieces. I know several people who rave about it.
