GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Really hope its a screwy finish or it just seems pointless. I read a rumour that Cena is going to return and finally turn heel, furthermore that he and Orton would be forming a new faction. It would be amazing if the two of them along with Shane formed a new nWo and took control of Raw. They really need something to freshen up the product.
rumour and heel cena in the same sentance?

Cena will NEVER turn heel mate, not in any situation will he agree to do that. His character is meant to be a hero and there is a lot of things to go along with that these days that make him unable to turn.

It was easier for hogan because they didnt have what they have now charity wise, so if he turned then theyh could still sell it.

I know all that's true but it was just wishful thinking. I have been following wrestling/WWF/E since 1992 and have never been more frustrated with the product. It really needs freshening up but with no serious alternative there is no pressure on them to change.

How can they not recognise the fan reaction to Reigns?

Cena doesn't have to be heel, he's said it himself.

He works the crowd so well, he knows when to be happy go-lucky face and when to be a hard nosed heel.

Why would he swerve the shirt sales from kids (Very profitable might I add) and the joy he gets from Make A Wish? Depending on your view of his character depends on how you see him.

Because it's a career and you should do what your boss wants you to do. If he turned heel, the kids would have to deal with it.

Ratings are in the pan and Cena has been a face who has been booed by live audiences non stop for the best part of a decade. The product is in the pan and it'd be something to liven it up. It's not really about "how you view him" at this point - he's just stale, end of story. Kids will always love him but then the same age group will love Dora the Explorer no matter how many times the show repeats the same formula and character; it means nothing.

That said, at this point it'd have to be VERY carefully done. If he just turned heel, people would cheer it. It's a shame Bryan is gone, because costing him the title at Mania would have been an excellent way to do it.

I always thought it was harsh that the heel essentially has less merchandise opportunity. I think it'd be much fairer if merchandise sales were split between the roster in some way. If a great heel has worked to get a face over for 6 months and they subsequently sell a load of shirts then I think the heel should get a cut of that.

Agree with this. I personally like Cena, he's a good worker, always gives 100% and seems like an all round great guy but his act is so stale. The business has basically given him an incredible life and career (obviously he has worked very hard as well). Its time he did something to take the company to a new level. I'm sure his bank balance can take the drop in merch sales.

You could put him with Nikki on TV as a power couple. Surely that'd get some heat. Him as WWE Champ and her as Divas Champ.

Appreciate that but a heel turn was nixed a year or two ago that Cena himself pitched. Had gear made, video packages made, everything. It was nixed:

And I think it is how you view him. You think he's stale, granted a lot of people do - I don't, people I know don't. This last year has been his best in years - Open challenge was incredible (Obviously a creative idea but his matches with Owens, Zayn and the likes were brilliant.) His promos have gone up another level. I've never seen anybody turn a crowd within seconds from pure hatred to joy and support.

And yes, It would need to be done properly. I'd love to see a return to the Thuganomics gimmick I grew up with but we won't see that again. Would he go the NWO Hogan route? Doubt it, it would have to be concocted well.

Let's turn Cena heel by costing Reigns the title at mania, boys.

You'd need a counter balance - that's why I said Bryan.

Build up an indie darling face right to the point of the title, and have Cena rip it away. Otherwise you'd have a heel Cena cheered instead of a face Cena booed.

I see your point. If he turned heel on say Taker and formed a new nWo with Orton, it'd get cheered. I guess they could build AJ to the point were he was on course to win the title and have Cena turn on him at that point. Jealousy could be the reason and he'd have to change his look as well.

Interesting that Cena pitched a heel turn to Vince a few years back. I didn't know that.

The heel turn writes itself really.

"I always said I'd never give up, never surrender... and that includes my place as THE top guy in this company."

... and so on.
