I can totally see Tyson Fury in WWE at some point.
His name sounds like a wrestler already.
Every time someone posts in the wrestling thread over the weekend, I expect the death of a wrestler to be announced.
Listening to Five live today while doing DIY, they had someone on who worked for WCW and the WWF. He said Vince McMahon was going to lose a fortune this year with the WWF. People are switching off with pro wrestling he said, not happy with how it is now.
Reckons Vince has become complacent with no real opposition and sees the UFC as his competition now. Says all the top college wrestling talent are seeking a future in MMA these days, as they see it as a more rewarding to compete in a real sport than acting. Reckons unless dramatic changes it will see the end of professional wrestling in mainstream telly.
Angle has retired from TNA? What?
Surprised you're surprised. He's 46, he still suffers from his multiple neck surgeries, has a history of drug addiction, and WWE won't take him back for fear he'll die on their watch and they'll be lumbered with 'WWE kills an Olympic Gold Medalist' headlines.
No point being in TNA, there's no money in it, they run virtually no shows and draw hardly any fans to shows they do draw.
Getting into ICW of late. Their ICW On Demand service is really good. I really like their over-18s product, a real throwback to the WWE Attitude/ECW era.
Also a huge fan of Joe Hendry. So charismatic and massive creative when it comes to writing/singing song parodies to take the piss out of his opponent:
I was more shocked by the fact he's retired just from TNA and that's it. Like no real retirement, just TNA.
