Totally, they chose to forget just how poor a wrestler he was yet never fail to make a snide comment about Bill Goldberg should they have the chance. WWE realised that 'self destruction of the Warrior' dvd about five years ago now (prob longer now i think about it) and would like pretend it was never made. Warrior was given chance after chance by WWE and repeatedly wasted them. He was never as big as WWE would like to pretend. Yes he had about 18 mounth's when he was VERY populer but aside from wining the IC title in summerslam 88 and Wrestlemania vs Hogan I cant think of any other truly great moments. Most of his in ring work was awful and his mic skills were embarresing. First thing i remember when i think of Warrior was him stinking out the joint on Nitro with that God awful promo.
The hypocrisy from WWE over Hulk Hogan is embarresing. They have given Hogan the Chris Benoit treatment and yet they act like Ultimate Warrior was God himself while ignoring his PUBLIC homopobic rants plus dispicable laughing and making fun of Bobby Heenan having cancer. They (WWE managment, or just the mcmahon's) are also good pals with (or at least supporters of) Donald Trump who is hardly a beacon of racial enlightenment. I'm in no way defending Hogan for what he said but i simply cant stand this fake moral outrage and downright hypocrisy.
It's all about making money, public image and petty personal grudges. That's how WWE has always been and more than likely always will be.
As long as they can carry their personal grudges without affecting their money making they will.
If their was no public backlash against Hogan then they wouldn't give a damn if he was racist and nothing would have changed.
So yeah, of course they're hypocritical, always have been and always will be. But they don't care.
In wrestling, making money comes first and everything else comes second.
