Sweet Christ!

Am I right in thinking that Tenryu is the same guy who was part of the Orient Express and infamously was part of a team that beat Demolition in like 2 mins at Wrestlemania 7?

Saw you mention Keiji Mutoh in another post, have you checked out his early work in WCW with Sting?

Tenryu was the guy who beat Demolition at Mania yeah, tagging with Koji Kitao

I have seen Muta's stuff with Sting. That was ground breaking at the time and Mutoh was even getting cheered from some of the fan base. These days, they would probably eventually turn him but in the 80's that sort of thinking wasn't really exhibited, so instead he remained a heel

Muta Vs Sting at Great American Bash 89 is a cracking match

I love Mutoh's stuff from 2001-2002 as well, when he was probably the best in ring performer in the world

I love how he evolved the Muta character from the short haired black and white facepainted of the 80's and early 90's to his modern day bald look with the demonic mask. Just wish WCW hadn't stuck him with Vampiro and the ICP in 2000 as till that point a Sting/Muta team was looking like being a dream team

Muta was finished at that point to be fair

If hadn't gone for the full gimmick haul, he'd have never had such am amazing turn around

The Muta gimmick in that style was beyond it's last legs when he showed up in WCW in 2000

I think it was WCW spring stampede 1994 i was watching not so long back and it had a Great Muta/Steve Austin match on.

It sucked :( they just didn't click.

But then Sting and Rick Rude had a stinker so maybe there was something in the water.

Here's a script that leaked for the September 25th, 2000 episode of WWF Raw is War:

This just in regards to TNA

As for TNA, Meltzer was talking about it on the last show, and basically they're ditching PPV completely and going into survival mode by attempting to cut everyone who won't take a $300 per show deal. So expect to see basically everyone but the tippy top guys cut loose when their contracts expire, and a lot more indy geeks used instead.
