I smell a rat in regards to this JR "retirement"
He was working behind the scenes. He said 2 weeks ago, on a stage about 6 feet in front of me in Manchester, that he had no intention of retiring any time soon, as he loved his backstage role working within NXT developmental and scouting new WWE talent too much.
This is a punishment firing dressed up a retirement to allow him a dignified exit.
You don't do such a massive u-turn in 2 weeks, unless he was lying to us all in his one man speaking show, which - why would he do that?
Yeah but since when has Vince given a damn about giving someone a dignified send off? Especially JR, Vince seemed to take evry chance he could to humiliate him.
Anyone who thinks JR 'retiring' is his decision - think about this: if someone like him was really retiring, don't you think WWE would make a massive deal out of it, on at least one of their tv shows, have him call a final match/show, have a retirement ceremony for him, make a big celebration out of it? Of course they would. They're not going to though, because this is a firing in all but name. He went abruptly; he was fired 2 days before he was supposed to be attending the latest NXT tapings in Florida on Thursday.
The whole thing stinks, but that Vince's love/hate treatment of JR all over, humiliated him many times over the years.
No holds barred.
