I wonder whether we might get (another) Big Show heel turn with him appearing to help Bryan before nailing him and officially joining with "The Corporation". It is too early for Bryan to win the title back I think, it would stunt the momentum of this entire storyline. He can keep losing in non-clean ways and stay credible.

If he gets Orton in the Cell I think he has to win at that point, even if he loses it back soon after

There's the Battleground PPV between Night of Champions and Hell in a Cell though. It will be interesting to see how they play it out. I think a non-clean Orton win in a certainty at NOC. From there it's difficult as obviously a match in the Cell would be great but what do you do at Battleground?

Jim Ross officially retires from the WWE.

pwe:
"World Wrestling Entertainment issued a statment on their website announcing that WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has retired from the company, effective immediately. The article noted Ross was leaving to "focus on personal business endeavors."
Ross, long considered one of the best announcers of all time, also presided over the then-WWF Talent Relations department, signing some of the most important talents to the company's modern age to deals, including Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Trish Stratus, Edge and many, many more.

Since leaving the talent relations end, Ross has been involved with a number of behind the scenes responsibilities including determining talent payoffs, WWE developmental and assisting with different licensed products, including the WWE video game series.

Ross broke into the business in Bill Watts' Mid-South promotion, which as irony would have it, was the featured subject of a DVD which WWE released this past Tuesday featuring new commentary Ross called over old footage.

Ross debuted for the company at Wrestlemania IX in 1993, coming over from World Championship Wrestling. He was in and out of the company several times but became one of the most important figures in the history of WWE, both as an on-air performer as the voice of the Attitude Era and as a backstage official.

WWE inducted Ross into their Hall of Fame in 2007 in Chicago, IL.

Ross' BBQ product had been sold via WWE online. There is no word whether that will change with his departure."

Terrible decision.

Let's get this straight - he's being released and they're dressing it up as retirement to make him save face.

This all stems from the 2k14 video game press conference the night before Summerslam, where Ross chaired a panel group of stars for the media, and let Ric Flair go on massive rants without stopping him.

I met Jim Ross two weeks ago in Manchester at his UK tour Q&A. He said then he had no intention of retiring as he loves what he does, working in developmental.

Sad but he's been appearing less and less.

No shock.

Love him though.

He was working behind the scenes. He said 2 weeks ago, on a stage about 6 feet in front of me in Manchester, that he had no intention of retiring any time soon, as he loved his backstage role working within NXT developmental and scouting new WWE talent too much.

This is a punishment firing dressed up a retirement to allow him a dignified exit.

You don't do such a massive u-turn in 2 weeks, unless he was lying to us all in his one man speaking show, which - why would he do that?
