GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Anyone got that new Mick Foley dvd? I ordered it the other day and looking forward to watching it.

Although don't pay attention to Wrestling much these days the WWE dvds are brilliant.

A bit pricey isn't it. Wouldn't mind seeing it.

Their is a match on it vs. Sting from WCW Power Hour November 1991. It aired at 9am, doesn't have any blood but is pretty brutal. I highly recommend it, good for a TV match.

Also, match against Van Hammer is really good, because Hammer never had good matches. Can't remember what ECW/WWE matches are on it.

Just watching a Mexican company called "AAA". I think the camera man might have ADHD as he keeps switching to constant dhots of the crowd. This show has some TNA people on it. Velvet Sky is truly an awful wrestler, even more so when she has to work women who don't speak English

I do like a bit of Lucha. Try and CMLL and AAA's big shows each year. In 2011 I watched a lot of AAA, because of the TNA stars on show.

Last AAA show I watched at the end of a women's match the heels gave the babyface a kicking, then over the sound system "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor played and a transvestite ran out and cleared house. The fans went mental. That sounds like a complete lie, but it happened.

As for Velvet Sky, I thought her prettier before she got those ridiculous looking boobs put on. Lousy wrestler though.

Think it was around £24 but don't mind paying that for the documentary. rather good watch are those wwe ones.

Ha, look what I found - a collection of Sky tv ads just for the U.K., for WWF tv & ppv shows, 1989 to 1993:

Seems like there's quite a few fans of wrestling in this thread who are well educated on the latest happenings outside WWE & TNA.

Can I just urge everyone to check out the big wrestling show at the Grand Central Hall in Liverpool (the old Quiggins building, where the Barcelona bar is now) on Saturday May 11th, Infinite Promotions' One Year Anniversary show, 'Renshaw Street Fight'.

The big draw is one hell of a coup - an appearance by New Japan Pro Wrestling's current IWGP Jr Heavyweight Champion, Prince Devitt, who will be facing CJ Banks for the Infinite Promotions' main singles title. Devitt is one of the best wrestlers in the world not currently under WWE contract (and almost certainly will be one day, down the line). This guy has wrestled numerous times at the Tokyo Dome in Japan for New Japan, in front of huge crowds.

I'm a regular at the Liverpool-based Infinite Promotion shows - this will be their fifth big show. It's a great promotion featuring some really good wrestlers and some good storylines and angles. Attendance has grown steadily over the past shows, with the last show being the best-attended show thus far, 300+ fans (which is more than ROH sometimes gets for tv tapings in the U.S.). They're hoping to break their attendance record with the appearance of Devitt on May 11th, so check them out. £10 for adults and £7 for kids/students, which is a bargain.

Prince Devitt's Entrance Video, for those unfamiliar with him.

This guy is awesome. Legit excited to see him wrestle live for the first time on May 11th in Liverpool.

I concur that everyone should try and get down to this show

Devitt is awesome

Sam Bailey Vs Zack Gibson will be a brilliant match too

Plus, Mike Lovejoy will be making his Liverpool wrestling debut! (Worth the price of admission right there!)

Got nothing on that weekend as yet, might just go to see what the deal with Devitt is as I've read great things about him in FSM, PowerSlam and in interviews with various wrestlers
