I'd say the Okada one was

Scurll blocking the Rainmaker with an umbrella was inspired

Nah. It was nothing special for me.

I don’t buy the hype surrounding all these New Japan guys and the ROH ones.

Not saying I buy WWE either. That’s 90% dogssss.

In fact I’d say there’s hardly any wrestling I actually do enjoy these days. Maybe I’m growing up.

You don't honestly believe they made either of those decisions based on what fans wanted do you? Surely you can see that they made both decisions based on the mainstream media attention they attracted and nothing else. The Fabulous Moolah thing was even worse becauseif they understood their own fanbase even slightly they'd of known that was gonna go down like a lead balloon before they even started and again it wasn't the fan backlash that made them change it. It was mainstream media attention that did the trick.

Of course it was a joke, why would the biggest most successful wrestling company in the world listen to the fans?

They'd be out of business in 6 months.

Well, they do listen to the fans, but thats fans who pay the money, not fans who moan on internet forums. Or pay the money to stick it to Vince by chanting for CM Punk. They laugh at those fans.

You don't seriously believe this do you? You don't truly think that occasionally throwing a bone to your fans/customers would drive a company that has absolutely no real competition whatsoever out of business? Nobody is asking them to do everything the fans ask, that would be awful for the product but in no other tv show is criticism from fans met with such venom and contempt as pro-wrestling.

Would these be the same fans who boo Roman Reigns every week? The same fans who sit in silance most of the show because it isn't very good for the most part or the thousands of empty seats at arenas? The reason they get loads of morons hijacking the show and chatting stupid stuff is because loads of casual fans have been driven away and very likely won't ever come back.

To be fair, those fans are absolute chumps

They and WWE deserve one another

I'd never pay for a ticket to go and see a show that I know I'd hate

I'm going to Progress at Wembley because I think it'll be really enjoyable. If I thought otherwise then I'd stay home

I pay for the WWE Network because it's actually worth having due to all the classic wrestling you can watch on it

If WWE ever got rid of that stuff, I'd cancel the Network because it wouldn't be worth having to me

I know I'd hate watching Raw, so I don't watch it when it's on and I'd never buy a ticket to go there and disrupt the show. They've already got my money at that stage and nothing I do at the show will make them change their minds, so what's the point?

Instead of sitting in silence until they get to boo Roman Reigns, those fans should either watch other wrestling or find themselves a new hobby, because WWE will NEVER change. Seriously, who has the time or energy to go to a show they know they'll hate just to cause bother? At least with Everton they occasionally do listen to the fan base now and then (See them dropping the Fisher Price badge a few years back when fans hated it) which makes up a bit for when the football is awful

Depends what you mean by "listen to the fans" though doesn't it. I was exaggerating to make a point but i've seen fans online saying that they should make Curtis Axel Universal champion. Reckon they should listen to that fan?

As i expanded in my original post, by fans who pay the money i meant those who buy the merch, buy the ppv's and subscribe to the network, and go to live events because they want to, not because after paying their money they want to show everyone how much they hate the show they've just paid to watch.

Don't like it? Don't go. Then WWE will listen to you and change things, they might then make a show you like.

I don't particulary like WWE at the moment, i watch Raw occasionally and stick the ppv's on in the background unless there's something i really wanna see. But i'm not gonna talk rubbish about how they're clueless and don't know what they're doing. They clearly do, they just signed the biggest TV deal in their history and are getting $10 million dollars just for putting on 1 show. There might be empty seats at some shows, they could be doing better no doubt, but as the only show in town (because they were so successful making wrestling all their competitors are either out of business or not worth worrying about) i doubt they care.

When they get to the level of having to hold Raw in high school gyms again they might think "damn, maybe we should have listened to the fans who booed Roman Reigns".

I agree Mikey, fans who pay to see a show and hijack it are bellends imo. People should stay away if they don't like the show and that's what's happening. That's why there's thousands and thousands of empty seats at every show now.

You're a fool if you pay money to watch a show you don't enjoy. The problem is that lots fans who still go have no interest in wrestling beyond WWE. My problem is that I don't understand why people get so annoyed about fans hijacking shows they supposedly don't watch. If it's not effecting your enjoyment who cares? Are the hijacking fans stupid? Imo yeah and I'd advise them to check out other promotions but they won't which is why its a vicious circle. WWE wont listen because they don't have to. Their most ardent critics are also their biggest customers......

Well it's not so much about what I think "listening to the fans" means so much as it does stephanie mcmahon since I was quoting her to begin with. Imo listening to the fans doesn't mean doing everything they say. God no! The show would be more unwatchable then a Vince Russo booked impact if they did that.

Imo listening to the fans means letting the people who are actually over with your audience consistently get a chance (I mean people who are really over, not Indy darlings beloved by internet marks). It means changing the show up a little when you get poor reactions from the live crowd all the time. They really wouldn't have to do very much to win over the vast majority of the audience.

And no, obviously they shouldn't listen to that one idiot fan saying Curtis Axel should be universal champion but perhaps they could listen to massive number of fans chanting week after week for certain talents like they had for Zack Ryder and push him/her accordingly.

They don't change anything regardless of how many fans walk away. Wrestling is a tv goldmine and with zero competition WWE would actually have to tell their fans outright to F off to make enough of them walk away for that to happen. They don't have to change and they won't, they can just stay as they are and collect their money as the only game in town entitles them to. That wasn't my point, I just think it's laughable for them to claim they listen to their fans.
