Why not? Deliberate boos ending a main PPV are completely different to "disgust at the manure shoveled our way" boos from the past. It controls a narrative and makes sense.
It's like Ric Flair winning the Rumble in '92 or Austin over Rock at Mania 17.

Of course this all got edited in future releases.

How to save Wrestlemania this year
1. During the smackdown or Raw tag team match, have one of the teams have to pull out. When they need a challenger, have the hardys come out and win the title, massive impact and crowd would love it.
2. AJ beats shane. Have a circumstance where anderson and Gallows comes out to help AJ after someone comes out to help Shane. Then at the match end and they all celebrate, have them turn on AJ, lay him out. When everyone is confused, boom, Balors music hits and he comes and cuts a promo that the club are back in business. Nod to the fans then, that the bullet club are live again.
3. Brock beats goldberg as expected. But rather than give him the big ovation because the crowd won't really be arsed about it, hit angles music and out he comes to congratulate him, say he stole his thing and he will always be in his shadow etc.
Which would lead to the following night and bock coming out and saying he challenges Angle to a match to prove he is better than him. then Vince's music hits and out he comes and says he would love to see that match etc, then stephanie comes out, talks about congrats and all of that, and says she is proud to announce her new raw GM....Kurt angle. Angle comes out to huge pop, all smiles etc, then turns round and says to brock his first order of business is to book him to defend that title in a fatal 4way at the next PPV, to prove he is worth of it.
That is my thoughts on it, make the show and the following saw/smackdown worthwhile then
