Hi everyone, pretty new to the forum but living up in Scotland it's hard to keep up with the goings on so was hoping this will help. How much would you agree with the statement in the title ? I've only been on for a short time but some of the things I've read have been strange (in my opinion). An example being the lack of desire for a better atmosphere at all games at Goodison, I know it's probably been done to death on here but surely 99% see this as a priority ? Also, people going to away games and moaning about people standing up  Try and get to as many games as I can which is usually once a year (if the funds allow it) so I accept my opinion doesn't count for much.

Welcome mate.

I'd say most people on here (like in general) are in favour of improving the atmosphere, but won't do it arbitrarily regardless of the situation.

As far as standing goes i don't think anybody particularly opposes it, more they oppose the idea that everybody should stand by default. Some people just don't like standing and some people can't, due to age for example.

After seeing the difference singing fan groups have made in Scotland (The Blue Order/Union Bears at Rangers, the terrorist loving green brigade at the dark side even some of the diddy teams like Hibs, Motherwell etc) it would surely be advantageous to have one at Goodison ? There must be enough like minded fans that want to create a better atmosphere to start one up.

There have been a couple of attempts at them recently i think, one was in the lower Gladwys and one in the Park End near the away fans.

The key to them is getting the board onside and even at the start when numbers are low keep on going, would Kenwright be happy to give it the go ahead ?

I thinnk you will find that most posters on here actually dislike both Glasgow teams equally, so referring to one of them as terrorist lovers won't make you many friends. It's old and it's boring, please keep the petty sectarianism for North of the border please (y)

I wasn't trying to make friends, anyone coming onto an Internet message board to make friends probably should get out more. I was merely stating what they are ? A group of individuals who take pleasure in singing songs/flying flags of a terrorist organisation that has killed many British soldiers and civilians. I understand it's not a Rangers message board so I won't talk about it any further. Perhaps you could input to my OP ?

A Rangers fan who said he wanted the Celtic manager to be bombed because he did not like him has been given a six month community payback order.
Allan McCormack, 25, posted the message "Bomb Neil Lennon, bomb him now" on a Facebook page following an Old Firm game on 29 March last year.

Parcel bombs sent to Celtic manager Neil Lennon and two high-profile fans of the club were designed to cause "real harm", according to police.
The liquid-based devices were addressed to Lennon, Paul McBride QC and former Labour MSP Trish Godman.

A Rangers fan carried out a violent sectarian attack on Celtic supporters at a service station.Stephen Campbell, 23, shouted sectarian abuse and hurled a bottle at two men as the two sets of fans made their way home from separate games.
Co-accused Kevin Anderson, 33, admitted headbutting and injuring one victim during the incident at a garage filling station.

Just for a bit of balance.

Sure. I would think that GOT represents the broader views of Evertonians in pretty much the same way that any noticeboard represents the viewpoints of their wider fanbase - the most vocal posters are those with extreme views one way or the other while there is a huge majority in the middle ground of any debate who don't really have strong or learned opinions so prefer to stay in the background and read rather than post a lot.

Now, onto Naismith - as a Rangers fan who has presumably seen him play a fair bit, can we expect him to get better for us? Is playing him out wide a bad move or something that he has done before? How well do you reckon him and Jelavic in the middle would do?

Just for a bit of balance.[/QUOTE]

In no way shape or form am I trying to claim Rangers fans are innocent, you only have to look at Manchester 08. However, the links you have provided are a poor basis of an argument as they all involve a single idiot which every club has.

When he moved I was genuinely gutted as a Rangers fan but excited as an Everton fan. He takes a lot of stick on here which I think is pretty unjustified, granted he hasn't played well since joining but he is defo out of position. I think him and Jelavic would do well together in that role but Naismith does play better when given a slightly free role which I don't think we can really afford to give him given the nature of our team this year. I also think he's becoming a bit of a scapegoat which will do nothing for his confidence and by that I mean he probably had a better game than Piennar the other night yet it's him getting slated. He was also a boyhood Rangers "fan" that turned his back on the team in a second, was one of the only players not to take a wage drop even though he was injured most of that season and was one of Rangers' highest earners so if he wasn't at Everton I certainly wouldn't be wishing him well.

Hahaha.

The Blue Order? The same drum beating neanderthals that threatened violence against other Rangers fans if they "crossed the picket line" and attend the cup game at Tannadice?

Forgive me but I'll not be following their shining example.
