GOT represents the opinion of the Everton support

Hahaha.

The Blue Order? The same drum beating neanderthals that threatened violence against other Rangers fans if they "crossed the picket line" and attend the cup game at Tannadice?

Forgive me but I'll not be following their shining example.

A) They don't have a drum

B) I can guarantee no threat like this was made officially by TBO (probably some wee bam being a keyboard warrior).

I think that's a shame. The older members of the support wouldnt need to be singing. And surely when we're being outplayed instead of everyone moaning we would benefit from having a group of young lads (and old if they fancy the challenge) constantly singing and spurring the team on ?

Agree ! Young lads must do it that :)

I wasn't trying to make friends, anyone coming onto an Internet message board to make friends probably should get out more
Yeah why spend time having a friendly chat with people who share a common interest when you could speak to random strangers with whom you have nothing in common? We try to be friendly around here mate (some would say too friendly) and while things can get argumentative at times I'm not sure "I wasn't trying to make friends" is the best attitude for a new poster.

As for your question: a vocal supporters group isn't a bad idea (assuming it isn't based on any weird invisible sky monsters). That said I'm not sure there isn't a correlation/causation argument with the idea that teams win *because* of vocal support; just as (or more) likely that vocal support is louder when a team is winning and playing well.

I'm probably in a minority but being in a section where you have to sing regardless of what is happening on the pitch seems like a complete nightmare to me. I remember watching Portsmouth on TV years ago getting webbed by Arsenal at Fratton Park. I think it was 5-0 and the whole ground was still singing, ringing bells, jumping up and down.
I agree ... that's mental. The relentless drumming and other stuff some teams do drives me nuts as well. But I think there is a happy medium. Just like with singing sections if you get like-minded people in a group (rather than scattered all around the ground) it helps them get started and then in turns gets everyone else joining in later. As long as its organic and the only agenda of the group is to enjoy themselves and get the team motivated I think it could be a good idea to get things a little louder.

Celtic > Rangers

i love the good old atmosphere at goodison

atmosphere should be spontaneous not organised

I‘m all for singing sections meself, last 5 - 8 rows of the gwladys would deffo get goodison louder. But ye don‘t want it manufactured where you have to sing no matter what. Thats ridiculous that. If Everton are getting walloped by anyone its the worst and I can‘t bring meself to sing because I‘m too busy being depressed. I don‘t understand when away fans at Goodison try and pisstake when were leathering their side, and thats what I kinda like about our fans, atmosphere is deffo created to whats happening on the pitch the way it should be, again though time to time it would be nice for Goodison to wake up a bit when the players could do with an extra push

Granted I probably shouldn't have said that, I apologise. Most players react well to a good atmospheric backing of them and their team mates so I don't see how a group of likeminded fans that enjoy a sing song can't get together and get behind the team. It definitely won't be for everyone but if they have their own wee section it shouldnt cause problems for anyone else therefore surely it can only be a good thing ?

I do largely agree mate (assuming the caveats I'd mentioned earlier). This might sound glib and I don't intend it that way but why don't you try to get it organized? Someone has to.

He only goes to approx 1 game a season(not having a go at you) so there isn`t much point in him organising it. Its not rocket science, when it was terracing whoever wanted to sing the whole match used to walk into the centre behind the goal and about half way up as thats where everyone else who wanted to sing gathered. The people who want to sing and stand should just buy tickets in this area and every body else would know not to buy tickets there if they want to sit down.

First priority for me as an Evertonian should be to get an official partnership with an SPL club that isn't Celtic or Rangers so Glaswegians would stop trying to get us to prefer one or the other.
I vote Hibs cause Hibernian ends the same way as Evertonian.

Duncan Ferguson, Andy Gray, Alec Cleland.

Dundee Utd is the obvious choice here.

nah lad defo the jocks, most important thing, wasn't even messing or nothing

The most important thing about being an Evertonian is knowing which Ale House is the best to drink in and which chippy serves the best salt n pepper chicken wings by Goodison, other than that, nothing else is important
