He's right. Organization in supporting the team is important. Rather organization is gone. I mean, like the boy from Scotland said real organized group that attended games together, in and out together, stays in place, singing all game and contribute to development.
CHeers : )

People moan about Everton not winning vs the likes of Norwich/Swansea... Did you see how depressing the atmosphere was?
Celtic/Rangers win every game home and away not cos there miles better than the team, the Blue Union/Order and Green Brigade do it every game!

People just do it at the United/Chelsea/RS.

I for one am dead against any type of manufactured atmosphere. I'm as loud and animated as they come but my dad for example sits there in near silence. That's his way and after 60+ years as a Blue through thick and think he deserves to be able to watch his team home or away in whatever manner he chooses. If you want cheerleaders get a plane to the states or wait 'til X Factor starts up again next year.

I totally agree with what your saying mate. I don't scream/shout at the players as I know they won't hear me as no-one else does it around me...

Also, thats just the way I am! shy! but im telling you now, if we had a blue order/green brigade, I would be right in there!

Didnt mean that as a pop at you personally. It's just I believe everyone's got a right to support the team anyway they want.

With my work I often go to a few lower league matches each month and one - Plymouth Argyle - was bloody horrific in terms of this. They've been through the mill of administration and a couple of fans are now in a powerful position so they are running with this idea of singing groups, song sheets, flags and people being moved if they're not part of it. Have a look at the division 2 table to see how tragic it is to watch that carry on when the team is utter crap!

Organising yourselves is not manufacturing your support, it's using your common sense and I have a respect for fans who can organise themselves.

I agree when you say that fans should be able to watch the match in the manner they choose, but then you infer that those who do choose to sing should go to America or go on X Factor!? That's a bit of a contradiction that. What if I said that your dad should go the library instead of going the match because he wants to be quiet? I hope you'd be offended too.

Im not abusive towards our players, i do groan tho, i dont boo my own players no matter how bad they where.

the lad standing behind me at the Southampton game, Give Neville abuse all game, and Naismith and Jelavic and Osman and Pienaar and Distin and Howard (who i thought did ok)

I could imagine watching Plymouth to be honest, it would be shocking.
Everton (The club not fans) should basically have a little section on the bottom left/right of a stand where people do the singing abit like Blue Order therefore the fans like me and your dad can go and sit in the Park End!

I'm probably in a minority but being in a section where you have to sing regardless of what is happening on the pitch seems like a complete nightmare to me. I remember watching Portsmouth on TV years ago getting webbed by Arsenal at Fratton Park. I think it was 5-0 and the whole ground was still singing, ringing bells, jumping up and down. They were there to have fun, fair play to them. That's not the Everton I know though. We'd be fuming. If someone was telling me that I wasn't signing loud enough when we were getting outplayed by someone like Southampton or Reading I'd probably leave and never come back.

Different strokes for different folks though.

I'm up for that as well. It was trialled in the Cup as an experiment to learn how to go about these things. It proved that it works as long as you get about 30 minimum in there, once or twice the numbers were less than that though so naturally it didn't get going on those occasions.

I thinnk you will find that most posters on here actually dislike both Glasgow teams equally, so referring to one of them as terrorist lovers won't make you many friends. It's old and it's boring, please keep the petty sectarianism for North of the border please (y)

Here, here.

After going to an everton v celtic preseason game i was encouraged to go to an old firm game - thought id love it, but I didnt... Both sets of fans didnt cover themselves in glory. Went to midweek european games after that which were brilliant and the park head atmosphere was electric.

Same with goodison. Havent been to many midweek games, but when i have attended the roof has been lifted.

I think organised chanting etc is big in Germany and this tends to come across when i watch the games on the box.

I think that's a shame. The older members of the support wouldnt need to be singing. And surely when we're being outplayed instead of everyone moaning we would benefit from having a group of young lads (and old if they fancy the challenge) constantly singing and spurring the team on ?
