But Hibbert was incredible at times. Got a standing ovation off most of the ground for one tackle he made in the second half. I've been to many a game in my tender years but I don't think I've seen a standing ovation out of pure respect for a tackle. Jagielka was fantastic, Gibson was excellent. Everyone put in a great shift.

10 candidates to be honest - only Jelavic had a moderate game as he was marked out the game. The most obvious selection however is Marouane Fellaini. I'm not sure if anyone noticed a slightly misplaced pass to Leon that was half a yard wrong & went out of play for a throw. I thought "oh" he's actually made a mistake!!!! - Yes, he was THAT good tonight.

Moyes employed Leon Osman is a slightly less penetrative (oncoming) role as well - meaning his goal attempts were more instant & effective (feeding off Fellaini for example). If Ossie has one major fault for me it's his lack of stamina when he's taking a shot - he has great technique & silky skills but he somehow lacks that killer finish when he's put that shift in. Tonight we saw a better (final) contribution from him & he was unfortunate not to score.

Fellaini was immense, and deserves MOTM, but any other day Jagielka would have easily gotten MOTM today, he was quality, which shows how good Fellaini must have been!

Great performance by Everton, Fellaini/Jagielka/Hibbert in particular.
