Lost on a decision the other night in the boxing event I posted about the other day.

Really enjoyed the experience, a fantastic buzz and it was worth all the many hours I have put in at the gym.

The guy I fought was about 28 so had about 15 years on me, had fought before, about 3 inches taller than me and had plenty of ring craft, so not quite the "white collar" fight that I had signed up for. Still glad I did it though, a lot of people thought it was a draw and a bit harsh that he got the decision.

Never again! :)

It's difficult to make matches at the best of times with the white collar stuff to be fair to them. How can you know what level anyone's at realistically. That it looked a draw says they got it about right. Stick at it and you'll get a lot out of it.
 
Depends if you're maxing out or not, most of the time no. They do stupid things like upright row the bar when you're benching instead of just buggering off and leaving you alone :)

If you're spotter knows what to look for they can be invaluable, but seldom they do. Just don't get into the habit of doing forced reps all the time when you have one, they're okay for occasional use for bodybuilding, but all the time and they kinda lose their effect. Before you know it you're going too heavy and every rep from four or five on is a forced rep.
 
They've got a strength contest in the gym at the minute. Who can bench the most. Weight lifted / body weight and the highest number wins.

Weird isn't it? You know these things are proper gay, yet I still couldn't help but have a go.
 
Hard to think of a more beautiful place on earth to be honest.

Down to 56kg though at the moment, which the scales suggest is 6% body fat. Feel like relaxing for a bit now and not going at it quite so hard. Least for a few weeks anyway.
