Goodison Park

I have been back on four occasions since the Southampton game at the end of last season and I still love going to the ground. The walk to Goodison has always been something I have enjoyed but I have noticed how County Road is obviously much calmer now on a matchday and I miss how lively it got around there on a matchday when I am walking to the ground now.

The thing I miss most about Goodison is the shady bogs at the back of GT4! Ideal place for a quick half time burst rather than go down to the concourse and have to wade through loads of people to get to the ones down there.

The toliets in the lower South at the new gaff are way too small.
I previously sat at the back of the Lower Gwladys, so they were always easy for me to access when I needed to access them. Now, you sometimes end up in a queue in the Upper South. At least the new ground has hot water as I would sometimes end up shivering after washing my hands in the Lower Gwladys lavatories.

Same here mate. Really struggling with the transition from the Lower Gwladys to the Upper South. Hoping to move down to the Lower South next season but don’t think we’ll ever get the same level of atmosphere as the street end at the new place unfortunately.

When we get the atmosphere going at the new place it can be the match of it. This is more down to the people that made that noise have dispersed all around.

If we think the atmosphere is poor it's up to each and every one of us to change that.

I do miss the clattering of the wooden seats that was a precursor to a chance or a goal.

Really missing the Blue Dragon.

This too.

We’ve more or less, with the exception of Arsenal at home have played half of the seasons home games.
What do you still miss about Goodison, and does anyone feel better for the move to Bramley Moore?
Goodison..I remember being slagged many years ago (toffeeweb) for pointing out it was a relic that was not fit to advance our team. Great nights are about the team and supporters, not the venue although some are better than others. For me the 'Old Lady' smelt of incontinence a long time back when it was clear we could not generate the revenue to compete.

Even before my first visit to the boys pen (Everton 5 Blackpool 0) staying with my cousins in Claudia St on the late 50s a night match the bedroom windows shaking loose the putty from the roar when we scored.

I much prefer the location of the new ground, County Rd isn't what it was and even on the best match days it was a bit miserable after the game so I'd walk to Bootle, the atmosphere around the new ground and all the new bars just feels exciting. Plus the walk into town isn't that long. The games themselves just seem a lot more lively and exciting. Never thought I'd prefer the new ground after being very emotional in May but the whole match day experience has blown me away.

Short of building overhanging stands there was no chance we would mate. I love BMD in every way though, a huge success for the club
Best we could do is a standing area at the very back of the Upper South.

We know the roof works for when everyone is singing but the other test is for when only about 100 are singing.

Thats always been my issue, where is the new back of the Gwladys St. Im aware its a speciality interest that only 1% of Goodison's crowd were interested in, so raising awareness to 99% who dont care or dont understand was never going to happen

Say about 400 out of 40000 went at the back and was part of that noise that didnt carry elsewhere so the majority of fans didnt get it. I got it though and I loved it.

I prefered the noise and greater variety of songs when it was just the back singing to when it was the whole ground singing the same few songs on repeat. The latter has carried forward but Ill be moaning about the former until until we get it.

I'll never get used to the new place but I was brought up by Goodison so matchdays always felt like going home.
The new place is burdensome to get to and already is becoming a bit of a chore.
The younger you are the more you're likely to buy into but I get that there'll be plenty who maybe it works better for.
I just get in and out as quick as I can these days rather than hanging about. The lack of community around there leaves me a bit cold to be honest.
