I grew to resent it in a way, like one of the big reminders as to how much the club had regressed, became archaic.
My match day routine still gives me the chance to walk these streets, then the pubs, then another 50 mins of walking!I miss the walk up to Goodison. BMD is infinitely better, but those narrow streets, the Ale houses on route, it's not the same (yet).
I previously sat at the back of the Lower Gwladys, so they were always easy for me to access when I needed to access them. Now, you sometimes end up in a queue in the Upper South. At least the new ground has hot water as I would sometimes end up shivering after washing my hands in the Lower Gwladys lavatories. The thing I miss most about Goodison is the shady bogs at the back of GT4! Ideal place for a quick half time burst rather than go down to the concourse and have to wade through loads of people to get to the ones down there.
The toliets in the lower South at the new gaff are way too small.
Same here mate. Really struggling with the transition from the Lower Gwladys to the Upper South. Hoping to move down to the Lower South next season but don’t think we’ll ever get the same level of atmosphere as the street end at the new place unfortunately.
Really missing the Blue Dragon.
Goodison..I remember being slagged many years ago (toffeeweb) for pointing out it was a relic that was not fit to advance our team. Great nights are about the team and supporters, not the venue although some are better than others. For me the 'Old Lady' smelt of incontinence a long time back when it was clear we could not generate the revenue to compete. We’ve more or less, with the exception of Arsenal at home have played half of the seasons home games.
What do you still miss about Goodison, and does anyone feel better for the move to Bramley Moore?
