I think that is what I said Goat.
fair enough, I dunno what the solution is, it's not my area. I was just thinking aloud. I happen to believe that, after seeing where GP is now and what was done at Fenway, that Goodison can be turned in to an attractive destination and I'll be sad when we move to a soulless identikit stadium while the RS steal another march on us with their historic venue. Feck it, bring on Chang park so...A bit of nonsense this is.
I totally get people's attachment to Goodison. I love it too. It was great when I had a season ticket and parking spot sorted. Without a season ticket though, I find it a pain sorting half descent seats without an obstruction from a pillar or stand above.
Give me a new stadium with better transport links, parking and guaranteed unobstructed views and there's no doubt I'd go 3x more games, whatever our form is.
I wonder how many people are put off going the game for the same reasons?
Architects have already looked at rebuilding on the existing site and found that it is not feasible. There is not enough space.

Is there nothing in modern structural engineering that could make staying at Goodison viable, i.e safely removing the obstructed views and redeveloping for an extra tier.
I know nothing at all about engineering or construction so I ask this genuinely?
I'm sure all these ideas have been discussed before at boardroom level and obviously it must be unfeasible.
I still want to know how the Stadium of Light was built for £25m and we are looking at at least £150m? Even taking inflation into account, it would still only be £40m.
Is the Stadium of Light just a bit basic or something?
Like football is anything to do with rational thinking and reality. The whole thing defies analysis it's mostly misery and discomfort - fantasy keeps the whole edifice intact and dismissing our history as nostalgia is woeful.New stadium, anything else is just nostalgia based fantasy.

Not sure if he wrote the Goodison Redevelopment thesis on KEIOC but if he did he puts these figures on the Park End development.Tom Hughes is an enthusiastic amateur.
He's never put a cost to any of his ideas.
It's noting more than an educated guess though mate. In addition it's for the simplest part of the stadium solution for Goodison. It's the engineering and construction issues (and therefore costs) of rebuilding the rest of it where the costs for rebuilding as opposed to relocating will be at their most pronouncedNot sure if he wrote the Goodison Redevelopment thesis on KEIOC but if he did he puts these figures on the Park End development.
"This basic extension could probably be achieved at a cost per seat of approx £1,500 per seat. The resultant capacity could be as high as 48,500.."
Thing is mate at circa £16m (or even a bit more) it's an option within our means. As the original piece says it gives us a massive "kop" akin to Dortmund something I feel could genuinely benefit us. If this 12th man aspect could push us on to compete regularly it's a small price to pay. It's noting more than an educated guess though mate.
