Goodison park or New Stadium.

Yeah mate, building a new stadium on a fresh site, clear of obstruction and having no access issues, would be far more expensive than shoehorning a new stadium into a land locked site that's barely big enough to house a stadium. Brilliant logic lad.

If money no object - stay at Goodison - an absolute no brainer for me and every evertonian.

Realistically that wont be the case so I opt for new stadium, not any old new stadium and anywhere but either at the waterfront or close by in Walton (Walton Hall Park for example)

I just sold my old place (a new build, all mod-cons, built in 2010) and moved in to a place built in 1890. It costs more, It's far less economical, it continuously needs maintenance, repair work and upgrading but I wouldn't go back. It's unique and has spirit, there's something about it that you can't buy new. I know the numbers don't add up and the lads with the calculators insist that moving is the only option but a new stadium will take Everton one step further away from greatness rather than one step closer.
Agree entirely mate. Among all the soulless new stadia Goodison is en route to achieving "classic" status you can't put a value on that.

Another tier on the Park End and some fettling to sort the obstructed views and it's circa 50k capacity with the magical historical bond intact. Not for a moment do I believe that would be anywhere near the cost of a new stadium, even the kirkby cow shed model. Goodison can only be replaced with something mind blowing and that's oil baron and sheikh territory. Absolutely no chance of that with William in charge.

120 days or less between the end of one season and the beginning of the next. It would be a very impressive construction schedule to pull off the roofs of the Main Stand and Park End and replace them with ones that do not obstruct view. Even doing one each per summer would be no small feat.

Arsenal's new stadium took 3 years to build. The Seattle and Cowboys stadiums mentioned previously took 4 and 3 years respectively to build. Certainly each of these endeavors had a larger scale of work than simply replacing one stand's roof, but construction is often much more complex than it seems.

Back in the context of the conversation:

Any reason why we cannot replace the roof on Bullens/Gwladys/Main Stand to be cantilevered like the Park End? Would relieve some if not all of the obstructed views problems.

I would guess that the construction time is prohibitive, and that you might also need to close adjacent stands for safety while the work is underway.

If you know how to do that in less than 120 days, you know far more than me, friend.

New stadium for without a doubt. Cannot ever seeing it possible to do anything to Goodison to get rid of the pillars and consequently the restricted views.

it will be a sad day when we'll leave Goodison behind. It's almost scary...but it is a must.we have to move on.

what can club do to give the new place the good old goodison feeling? It really cant be dublicated..
But i quess stuff like goodison stand etc can be done to honour the legendary place that we still have.

Im hoping something concrete about it before season starts, would be boss

Is there anything stopping a new stadium being built using the blueprint of Goodison without the blemishes?

Only got to wait about another hundred years or something.

Put in for world heritage status and get loads of grants..

Havent we already knocked back....A cowboy stadium..

New ground please. Goodison is over 100 years old. It has served us well, but, we need to think about the next hundred years, even if I won't be around to witness them all.

I liked the story but Goodison park is no Rolex and Ric Wee couldn't go the game on the windy wednesday night cause Goodison broke. So I would say Goodison is a Timex

New stadium, I will miss goodison but if the new stadium takes the best aspects of Goodison such as it's intimacy and old style theme to it. Removes it's negatives like Obstructed views, lack of Boxes and looking like a overly large Shed built by a man going through a midlife crises from the outside then it will say hands down new stadium.

That Palace game was postponed due to the surrounding houses haaving slats falling off the roofs. Barely a Goodison Issue. But yes, we need a new stadium.
