Behave Dave; Cahill is far from the man he was a couple of years ago. Like many I would rather him leave now and on a high as a legend than see him struggle for form and become a pin-up for the boo boys.

You cannot blame everything on the board of directors. I'm sure if news got announced tomorrow that Everton were offering Cahill a new 3 year contract you'd be first to post how incompetent the board, and kenwright are, for offering a 32 year old a new contract and spending money that should be invested into new blood. The board are damned if they do and damned if they don't in your eyes.

A two year contract that renegotiates his wage down would be very sensible. He can do a job off the bench, he's vastly experienced, a great pro to have in the dressing room and all that strengthens the onfield organisation. It's obviously not going to happen, but this is the sort of move that well run clubs make. The point is that we cant do that because it's one off the wage bill and one on it at Everton. That's a poorly run club living from hand to mouth. I'm sorry, but I dont know who other than the board of directors to blame for that. Maybe we should blame the tea lady instead?

Why would Tim Cahill take a wage cut when the chances are he will get a massive pay day in the Middle East??

And all your assumptions that we are getting rid because its one off the wage bill are just that....assumptions. You have no idea if Cahill wants to leave or if Moyes wants rid; its automatically down to the running of the club. At the end of the day Cahill is not the player he was

If I could wave a magic wand, I'd make him stay at the club forever. He's up there with Hickson, Labone, Lyons, Big Dunc and Bally. He is one of us and he'd make damned sure any young "superstar" who getting too big for his boots got schooled double quick.

Even at this age, I don't want to lose him - but I wouldn't hold it against him if he went.

Well, he's contracted to Everton for another two seasons: he committed two more years of his career to us. He apparently loves the club and doesn't strike me as someone that's motivated by the cash - he's a very generous feller. So if he goes elsewhere I'd say it'd be because he'd been nudged close to the door. We have a wage issue at Everton. It'd be naive to think any deciision he potentially takes to move on wouldn't be governed by that to a large degree. Have you never asked yourself why we always have a very small squad?

£1.5 million,we were having a laugh, love the fella, has given us the best years of his footballing life,he surely has had opportunities to play elsewhere over the years,so if he wants to go and earn big potatoes, good on you Tim,and thanks for everything buddy.

Having seen both his DVD and the 2nd Australian tv documentary made about him, I really doubt he's going to Dubai. His family means the world to him.

He's long said that he will stay at Everton for as long as possible, then when it's time, he'll move back to Australia where his parents and brother live.

He's extremely close to Phil Neville & family - for the last 2 summers they've gone on holiday together with their wives and kids - and I can see Phil talking him into staying for as long as possible.

first everton player in about 20 years to be nominated for Ballon D'Or and he was the first everton player to score in 3 seperate merseyside derbies at anfield, love the man. Feel more gutted about this than arteta leaving and I loved mikel
