goodbye cahill

He needs to go, because he's on a high wage and just offers nothing to our play these days.

But he is a legend -- a genuine one -- and I love the man to bits. That's partly why I want him to go now, so we can look back on his recent poor form as a short blip rather than a stretched out, awkward period that clouds the majority of his career, in which he was excellent for us.

You can question what hes done for the team recently, but you can never question what hes done for the club

I'd argue that he's played well just hasn't been on the scoresheet as much as he used to, he's no spring chicken anymore yanno.

Will be missing him in the Royal Blue jersey if he decides to leave. My fave Evertonian bar none. Very sad day when he leaves, but can understand his and Everton's motivations for doing so.

Luckily he will never play for another English club. That would hurt too much.

His endeavour never falters but he's not played well.

Tim Cahill excelled at two things: a.) Scoring goals and b.) Being enough of a nuisance to defenders that other players might score goals.

Last season he wasn't scoring and defenders weren't having a tough time with him in the slightest. He's physically past it now I think, and so I can't blame him, but I also can't lie to myself. We need someone with more guile, more attacking threat and more years in the tank.

Am i the only one suspicious that this thread started with someone's uncle is staying with cahills parents in Australia?

He wasnt poor ALL Season, I thought he came alive a little when we signed Jelavic.

But for a lot of the Season he was a waste of shirt.

Complete and utter Legend and if he leaves will be sorely missed.

At his peak, he carried us alone.

Yeah. A few people have said he was playing well and not scoring but he wasn't, the rest of the team were doing better but Cahill was still contributing to the team exactly the same as he had been for the past 2 seasons.

Being offside and giving away fouls.
